Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

The diff between 12GB and 8GB ram is going to be meaningless in day to day use even with heavy multitasking. The 888 CPU is however going to benefit everything the phone does.
We all have different use cases but for my use, the ram is much more valuable. I run a lot of apps, several of which have long-ish load times. Having 12GB allows for far fewer situations where those apps are killed and have to be reloaded.

On the other hand, it isn't like we are comparing a slow CPU to a fast one. We are comparing two high performing CPUs. Yes, the S21 CPU is faster but not enough that it makes up for the loss of RAM in my case.

Plus, for me, the microsd card is essential.

That being said, my needs could be totally different from yours and for you the faster CPU could be more valuable. I am just saying it isn't universally true that a faster CPU is worth trading an SD card slot and 4GB of RAM for.

When I am trying to make call, there is no 'favorites' in the Phone app. That is quite inconvenient. Any help? Thanks.
If you prefer it, install the google phone app and set it as your default phone app.

I decided to get a S20 after the official release of S21 yesterday. I am currently using a Samsung S8. The Google Fi trade-in value is $90, better than nothing. Hopefully the upgrade would make a huge difference.

Existing Fi customer needs to be careful. You must have been active on Fi on or before January 5th, 2020. It's 2020, not 2021. I confirmed it with the Google Fi customer representative that it was not a typo.

If you have been on Fi after January 5th, 2020, you can either register a NEW Google Fi account with a new email address and porting in a new number, or Add a person to your Fi plan, providing a new email address and porting in a new number as well. On the Googe Fi main page > Shop > "Save up to $625 on select phones, Add a person". Either way, you need both a new email address and a new number for port-in to qualify for this $600 off discount.

Another cheap way to get a new number for port-in. You can add a new line to your current post-pay family plan and port the line out on the same day. I did it with my T-mobile grandfather family plan and confirmed it with the Tmobile customer representative that I wouldn't be charged for this new line if I ported it out on the same day.

Thanks a lot for all the information and the referral code I got from SD. Please PM me if you need one.

Maybe that 1 sec is precious to whoever loves to see how fast they can tap the screen to death. Hey, all phone manufacturers love that as long as you pay them each and every year for an upgrade. Im certainly not that person.

Don't send your s8 for $90. Cheapest on swappa is $160.
In November trade in value for s8 was $350.
I think t mobile gives $400 for S8.

In short keep it there will be a better trade in deal sooner or later.

I got my S20+ y'day, much sooner than the Jan 22nd date on the order. An insert in the phone box indicates that a screen protector is included but I don't see any, either in the box or on the phone.

Anyone seeing the same or did you folks get one in your package

It is installed on phone. Look at the camera hole. It is a thin protector but punch on camera hole is visible.

how did you activate it on existing account? I have one line already, when I tried to add a new line, it asked me disable the existing line and move number to new phone. Can't find how I can have 2 lines under one google account.
You need to select add new person. It will ask for another email.

Have not seen this question directly answered yet. So I'll ask it again.
Will the S20 bought thru this deal work on Verizon networks (1x, 3g, LTE)? Could care less about 5G atm.
If in 3 months I can take the base S20 over to Verizon I'm totally doing this deal.

Got mine today.
Activated and the port took like 1 minute.

In my account, it says "27 days to activate" - yet promo said 30 days after the device is received. Oh well, I already activated it, it's not really a concern.

EDIT: Promo details says 30 days from the shipment confirmation email. So I guess 27 days makes sense.

Yeah, which is missing from the standard S20 5G. That's a major difference, along with less RAM and no microSD slot.
This is NOT what you think of someone says S20 5G
Any advice on whether I should exchange my Note 20 5G for S21 5G? I don't use the phone's camera or stylus often.
