Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

It's unlocked, but you need to stay in fi for 90 days to get your $600 discount

It varies, for some people right away and others nearly a full day.

I will warn you that you have to actually refresh the page. If you navigate away and navigate back it won't update.

No do not use the Fi sim at all in any other phone for the first 90 days after activation, till the offer completes, otherwise it will invalidate your offer and you will be charged the $600. Also you can get 20 off on your second bill
Umm, how do you get $20 off the second bill?

I actually want to have a Fi line that's separate from my 'main' line for international travel. Can I still suspend Fi service for 3 month at a time without having to pay for it? Thinking I can jump on this deal, meet the terms, suspend the service and keep activating it as needed.

I would say, No. The terms say must be active for 90 days, I would say pausing is not active.

Should have been more clear. Will keep Fi active for this promo, want to keep the line around after the terms are met, but primarily for int'l travel.

If some can help?
I would like to purchase S20/s20+ porting my current phone # from other carrier and avail $600 off
If i want to use Google fi phone service, when Google fi phone is received:
can I only use google fi SIM card in my existing phone device? or I must use new phone?
Putting your Fi sim in another phone is fine, don't let the tinfoil brigade scare you. As long as the Fi service is active, that's all they care about.

It's hilarious how paranoid some people are, frantically hiding their Fi sim in their sock drawer or under a rock in the backyard - as if someone at Google is sitting there monitoring their every move. Get a grip.

When you put your fi sim another phone, google will definitely know that. Question is does google care?

Some have reported that their promo discount vanished this way. Can't say for sure this is what really happened, but can't discount them either.

Numerous people have reported putting the fi sim in another phone invalidates the promo. It is about the only thing we know to be true. The rest is just speculation.

Putting the Fi sim in another phone will probably break the promo discount.

But for using another sim in the Fi phone, I can say that I have yet to break the promo, and my count down continues to count down. I have removed the Fi sim and placed it in the S20 box on day one once I ported in and activated. I am using my main pre-paid SIM with the S20 and everything is clear. No credit card charge and no breaking of the promo according to my Fi billing page. My bill is still $26 total after taxes etc.
