Spent an hour with a google fi rep who was also communicating with a tech specialist. They couldn't diagnose it and they tried both the native samsung messaging and also google messaging platforms. There's a weird number sequence at the end of all my text messages that I receive and I still can't receive any MMS. Sending text or MMS is fine on both platforms. They said they'll contact T-mobile to see what's going on as they are the fi carrier in the Las Vegas area.

Again, is anyone having problems receiving MMS messages or am I the only unlucky bloke here?
go into settings, apps, google fi and delete the cache and data. You'll get a notification to finish setting up Fi. after that reboot phone

I did notice my sms was in the denied permissions. i enabled it before restarting phone. once i got the notification and restarted, pics came in.. checked and noticed sms was back in denied. but heh, it works

I asked fi if it had to do with turning data saver on, but got no response.

Not really. I should explain. They just fixed it from their own end 2 days ago. I hadn't gotten a response from this thread in a few days so I got alerted when you responded back to me. I appreciate your help though.

Heads-up regarding this deal. The S20 they sent me was a refurb. Maybe that was spelled out in the fine print, not sure, but I was assuming I'd receive a new phone. Not so.

Anyone can confirm this? Why would they do it unless they sent it by mistake?

My guess for why is they had a stock of refurbs. The phone looks and feels fine, but when it connected to my wifi I noticed it was named "sharon's S20". Checked the About section and sure enough, that's the name it has, and I'm not Sharon!

And now do you see dead people after using it? Maybe you got a haunted phone???? Smilie

Why not? Do I have to wait certain time to pay it off?

Got 16 more days to go for my Pixel 4a5g. Can't wait to get this done.
Does the google fi account show how many days left for the 90 days or you manually count?

Just got charged for my second month of service for $26.xx while the fi sim has been sitting in the s20 box since day one. Still no signs of breaking the promo.

Long story short, been using my mint moble sim since day one of activating fi service via port in and have not broken promo.
