Wow great deal. You could use the S20 as a stepping stone to the S21 by trading it in next year. You may even get more than $400 trade in credit.

Oops. Didn't come up when I searched. Must be that it was quite a while ago. original referenced existing customers as of January 2020. so looks like this is a refresh by google. now says existing customers are prior to Jan 2021.

I was not sure I could have done that, because the new number i created was a google voice number, not a number from another mobile service provider. It might have worked to also create a new google fi account to go with the new google voice number, as you suggest, because i created the new google voice number from a new google account that i created just for this purpose, but, as I said, I was not sure this was going to work. there is some language in the deal that if you transfer from a google fi account, that account must have been existence before Jan 2020 (or something like that). As it was, I was just following the directions of a google fi customer service rep, who suggested the route that I took, which was quite easy.

If your goal was to keep using your existing google account with Google Fi, then your route is ideal.

But many are confused here with GV and GFi and how they play out. Google voice is NOT Google Fi.

You can create a new google account, get a GV number and use this number to activate Google Fi on the same account for these promos. No need to pay $3 to port out and then port in to Fi account.

Yes, that is true that if you creat a new Google Voice account and then use that number to activate Google Fi then you don't need to port anything or pay 3 dollars to unlock the number. The reason I did not do that, and instead ported a new google voice number to my existing google Fi account (which did require 3 dollars) is that I thought I read on this thread that the promotion does not apply to newly created accounts. Maybe I got that wrong, but that is what I thought I read.

Yes, we are very lucky that this is the case. I was hesitant to go this route but my Pixel XL's battery was becoming unpredictable at this point and seemed like a good jumping point for me. I've always been a Samsung fan despite their battery hiccup. The 30x zoom was really what did it for me. 30x zoom resolution isn't really that great though. Guess, I will be waiting for the upcoming S22? to resolve this issue.

I got in on the S21 deal with Google FI and will be jumping the Google Fi ship once the 90 days are over. My question is, is the Google Fi plan pro-rated to where If I jump ship after 95 days (5 day days into a new month to month), will I be refunded the pro-rated difference of the remaining 25 days?
I'm on the $70 unlimited plan which I got on promotion for $35/month for three months. I don't want to get stuck paying the $70/month for the fourth month but at the same time I can't jump prior to the 90 days or it would void the offer and charge me the full price for the S21. What are the options for fulfilling the 90 day period and avoiding the 4th month (day 91 onward).

A user on a previous page said that they will pro-rate the final bill according to how many days you used.

I have bad news for anyone who is using another SIM once the Fi SIM is activated, as long as the Fi SIM is not used with another phone.

I actived the S20 with Fi SIM and used it for about one week. Then factory reset the phone and use my Tmobile SIM in it for about another week. Fi SIM is in my draw, never used in another phone. The days counting is normal, 74 more days.

Today, I chatted with the Fi representative about my Fi credit not applied to my monthly bill. He or she particularly mentioned that the device was not active with Google Fi. Here is the transcript of the chat:
I suggest you to please resume your services and stay active with Fi to get Fi credits.
Yes, however I see that the device is not active with Google Fi.
Please inform member to activate Fi services on Samsung device.
From our end it shows that member activate the Fi services on different device model.
If he is not activate the fi services on Samsung device you will be charged $600.

Based on my understanding, Google may not know what network service is used in the Samsung device, but they definitely know it is NOT used in Fi.
Any update on what happened here?

Just got charged for my second month of service for $26.xx while the fi sim has been sitting in the s20 box since day one. Still no signs of breaking the promo.

Long story short, been using my mint moble sim since day one of activating fi service via port in and have not broken promo.
Is everything still going good?

Yes it is. Nothing has changed other than the count down continuing to go lower.

As of this comment, I have 6 days left in the promo. I will cancel immediately after.

3rd bill already generated about 2 weeks ago. Same amount for all 3 months so far.

Fi SIM has been in the S20 box since day one after port-in and activation. No $600 charge. No funny emails from Google Fi. Nothing but smooth sailing using my primary pre-paid carrier SIM since I got the phone.

Either this user did not activate correctly, or something else happened. Or probably shouldn't have contacted Fi support over a promo because they're not exactly known to be great. Or, if Fi support is absolutely needed, perhaps place the Fi SIM back into the Fi phone so Fi support don't suspect anything suspicious when they send a "phone home" signal to the SIM or device.

Here is my Fi Savings page, showing all promo criteria satisfied, except the remaining promo days. I have never contacted Fi support. Been using Mint SIM since day one.

Yes, it seems that FI has figured out that most people will quit after three months. So they won't give free 2nd month now. They only give make the 4th month free. Referral is useless nowadays.

I had enough referrals so that I paid $0.00 for 2nd & 3rd month!
