For those that care, Bonded leather is the crappy type that will start peeling after wear and tear.

Just go to your local staples and see what they have. The website said all the chairs were out of stock so i stopped in and they have a good many, plus there were 3 stacks of chairs being clearanced out between 79-120.

The next piece of advice I can offer:

I had a bonded leather chair and the leather started cracking and peeling. Do not buy bonded leather.

Bonded leather is trash. It starts peeling into a million flakes of garbage that stick to your clothes, and will last you a year at most. Total garbage product that shouldn't be made anymore.

Land fill. It saddens me the industry still produces this crap. It's our fault that we continue buying it. Vinyl from 10+ years ago was sooo much better.
There are class action lawsuits against several retailers for selling this material.
If you search bonded leather lifespan, it now says 2-3 years. That's unacceptable.

I bought this exact chair last month for $150 and it was absolutely worth that. It is fairly big and it is very sturdy. Mechanically sound. Quite comfortable. The only issue we had was there was a trim piece on one of the arms that didn't quite fit. My HS aged son has been sitting in it about 16 hours per day between virtual school and PC gaming and he loves it.

Assembly was straightforward. Should be less than an hour if you are at all mechanically inclined. There was one step (attaching the back to the base/seat) that would have been difficult with only one person.

Of course real leather is way better if you can find one, but they are also way more expensive.

What would you recommend for fabric that lasts long and is comfortable?

I had a chair like this for years (possibly even this same chair). The worse part was that the bonded leather on the arms cracked but the seat and chair back held up well. Dumped it when I moved in 2019 and the chair I bought to replace it sucks. In for another and if it lasts 2 years, I'll be happy.
