Bah. If you care about quality and material. These boots aren't for you. Manmade upper (i.e. everything is plastic).
The MSRP is totally over glorified to make it look like you're getting a deal. Appalled that Nordstrom's is carrying this brand - worst quality than Kmart's private label brand from my experience. I'm a regular at TJMaxx/Marshalls and all of them are chocked full of these stuff - their coats for instance looks super boxy and rigid with super cheesy fabric - as if it was totally made by a machine with not one human hand having assembled it. I decided to give the brand a try one time when I found a pair of black "leather" (man made leather) shoes for $30 at Marshalls because I thought I scored a deal (said the MSRP was $119 or something like that). Took it home, tried walking in it in my apartment across the living room - and within 20 seconds, there were permanent(!) large creases in the toe section!! Returned back to Marshalls the next day and even the cashier made remarks.
That's not really the point. You'll just have an all-around better experience with leather due to higher quality of material.

The navy ones are $30. Not my thing but might be someone's thing.

Ekkk yeah, $40 is all these Payless quality boots are worth to start. I'd expect that upper to start cracking after 2-3 months or less with normal wear.

That being said, if a person ONLY needed these for a photoshoot or for very rare occasions than these might be ok for you.

Below OP's item are other Clearance boots, some leather ...... ten mintues later, I dropped 380$ on 10 pairs.

I'm probably not gonna keep all, there's a NR near us here, so easy return(s).

I understand how leather uppers are considered superior, however I've yet to hear of boots being treasured heirlooms, passed-down through generations.

Golden Fox boots go on sale on Amazon at around this price maybe 10-15 more a few times a year. I have 2 pairs of them I've been wearing for 3 years now and I recommend them over these.

Maybe some gardening work. Although don't know if the sole will after tearing away.

Heritage boots like White's, Frank's, and Nick's are all heirloom quality.
