The free shipping will not appear upon checkout even if you have redeemed the perk. On the checkout page return to the Billing/Payment section and there are two drop downs: "Use a Giftcard" and "Use a Status Reward" . Click the latter and check the singular box marked "Free Shipping - Welcome Gift" and it will give Free Shipping.

Edit: talked to chat and they told me to use code: FREESHIPSTAT which didn't work. Too bad I ended the chat before I tried the code -_-

in the status, it says, Fulfilled. Free shipping welcome gift. at checkout, I don't get the free ship option
