My tracking says the phone left TX last night... would love to send off my trade-in phone today but guess I can't in case FedEx bungles my delivery.

Read my post just above. Sad but seems to be to common.
It seems that Fedex is the culprit here. Samsung must have known about this. I don't know what else to do here to further protect us from situations like this.
Reading your case make me hesitant to even return the phone if the trade-in does not work out.

I asked the support about this opportunity right now but they told me they can't price match. All of the accessory discounts and reserve promo code will be gone. Would I be still able to price match if the phone is restocked after pre-order ends?
What price match? Once the pre-order ends 1/28, you can get the phone for $799 and up on 1/29. That is why they call it Pre-order. Unless they decide to do another promotion afterwards to boost more sales.

Don't need the phone because it looks like a side grade from the S20FE. But the S7+ tablet would be nice. If anyone wants to get rid of the tablet in the NYC area, let me know.
Update: No longer looking. I got in on the other S7+ deal.

For those with credit card phone protection:

Will the phone qualify for insurance through the credit card if it's being financed through Samsung and not my carrier?
If you are talking about phone protection, not extended warranty, what method you use to purchase the phone has no bearing on coverage, it's what card you use to pay your bill.

How does the 10% cancellation discount reflect in PAW points? I know for R10, the amount is simply adjusted. Is this also the case for PAW?

Depends on the type of "insurance" coverage YOUR credit card company provides. Citibank may differ from Chase which may differ from Capitol One and so on.

One of my credit cards covers products that are paid 100% on the credit card. In this case, financing through Samsung would not provide coverage. On another card, if I pay the monthly cell bill (data, calls, txts) with the CC, I get insurance coverage on all the phones on the plan.

In short, what are the terms and conditions on YOUR credit card? No one here can know that.

Any idea if the credit card phone protection works with prepaids?

For those that want the S21 128GB on Tmobile but can't because it is out of stock. You can order the Sprint version and it should work fine on T-Mobile. As of right now the 128GB S21 in violet is available.
Are you sure? I actually need one for mint mobile.

Sure about T-Mobile. Not sure if it will work on Mint mobile since I expect the phone will be locked to (Sprint/T-Mobile).

EDIT found this: https://www.androidsage.com/2020/...sim-cards/ Mint "should" work.

The s21 battery performance appears to be catastrophically worse than last year's s20 on some of the review units that have been tested. If you search for the phonearena s21 review they got (1) 3 hours less 60hz browsing time, (2) 3 hours less youtube streaming time and (3) 50% longer charging time. If you take into account that the S21+ / S21u both offer *better* battery performance than the S20+ / S20u there must be something seriously wrong with the S21 - could be a software issue, but more likely to be related to battery quality, screen efficiency, poorly binned s888 socs samsung got at a discount or some other cost saving shenanigans.

Until someone figures out what's going on I wouldn't touch the base model S21 with a ten foot pole. It's hard to see how anyone wouldn't consider battery performance issues of this magnitude a deal breaking flaw when considering this phone.

It was surprising to see that Samsung will use the same Chinese manufacturer for the S21 line batteries that made the exploding Note 7 batteries a few years ago, especially for such a high end flagship phone.

It may not be the quality of the S21 battery that causes such a short life but .................
Samsung better figure out what the problem is asap.

Is it the same manufacturer in the s21 Ultra?
