Super-castlevania was a pretty looking nice quick level-by-level platformer. But 1 player. And is definitely outdone by modern metriidvanias like Hollow Knight. The nes castlevanias are unplayable imo.
Contras are pretty good for laughs if you have a buddy. But weaker than many modern co-op platformers and twin stick shooters like Enter the Gungeon or bro-force.
