Meh... not that stellar over the $150 8tb deals going on -- for years ---, considering it's 2021 now. Seems like the only sale price going right now if you need one right now though.

Pandemic changed everything. The supply probably outpaced by demand so this is why discounts are hard to find.

Can you explain if supply outpaces demand how would that make discounts hard to find usually high supply low demand creates discounts in classic economics?
They really need to remove the comments section of SD. Opinions are not facts. Nobody cares what y'all think. If you want the item buy it if you don't then don't buy it.

I think you read his statement incorrectly, you missed the "by" between supply and demand. Seems plausible, if there is no supply due to demand buying everything up setting up shop working from home these days, why would there be a need for discounts? Well, us consumers wants discounts at least!

We already see this in the video card market, theres a shortage and manufacturers have zero reason to lower prices.
Right now the 2 biggest hard drive manufacturers have little reason to drop prices because the work from home situation has caused an uptick in demand for computer hardware.

"outpaced by demand" not "outpaces demand" -- opposite meaning is how it's explained

That being said, if you need a drive sooner rather than later, go get it. If you're patient, a better deal for this drive will come again.
