I went to the same corporate store and got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $100. The guy tried to lie to me that I need pay $120 and set up auto pay to get the $100/4 lines deal and I said that was not correct. The guy just said "ohh, you know everything and you are like a boss" and proceeded with $100 cash.
I ported 2 numbers.

Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.

I've seen conflicting reports here about Metro's unlock policy. Here's the relevant portion:
Quote :
Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:
  • The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
  • The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
  • One hundred eighty (180) days must have passed since the device's activation date.
That's from this page: https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...olicy.html
That seems to clearly state that the policy does not require 6 months of service, just 6 months time to have passed.

I suppose it could be argued that they can change their policy at any time, but I think they would be held to the policy at the time you got the phone...

I think it's been confirmed here: https://slickdeals.net/f/14275640-moto-g-stylus-free-with-number-port-or-new-line-at-metropcs

It will automatically unlock after 6 month according to most user experiences. YMMV as Metro can change something between that time period.

Since the Apple phone does not have the "unlock" app - how would I go about testing if the drawer trick will work - are there specific instructions somewhere? The only comment I saw in this long thread was to "be patient, Apple device will take longer to unlock after six months."

Thanks,

Dan
I never tried myself. I remember someone commented it's automatic.

What if I'm already a metro customer? Is there an upgrade?
There is, but it's not anywhere near free. Your best bet is porting over a junk number, paying for a month of service on a new line, and moving the phone to your current account.

Do we leave the metro sim in the phone? Or can we take it out?

I have 4 numbers on visible from a deal a couple months ago but 3 months ago they were on t-mobile. Is the 180 day requirement strictly enforced?

If anyone can verify this, does it mean that once the phone is unlocked in 6 months it can be used on the T-Mobile MVNOs like Mint Mobile? Surely that would work since it is part of the T-M NETWORK. Right?
I moved from Metro to Mint in 2018, just some parameters to change in developer section.
So afaik, the answer is Yes

A pin number was setup during the order process. They were supposed to ask you and give you the option to choose.

In my case, numbers were from Tello (sprint) moved to visible for 40 days. They worked for me..

There are instructions here: https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...olicy.html
But that seems overly complicated. I think the short answer is correct -- it's automatic.

they didn't ask me for the pin and the security Q&A. I guess I have to go back to the store. Is it possible to call customer services to get set up the pin?
