I went to the same corporate store and got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $100. The guy tried to lie to me that I need pay $120 and set up auto pay to get the $100/4 lines deal and I said that was not correct. The guy just said "ohh, you know everything and you are like a boss" and proceeded with $100 cash.
I ported 2 numbers.

Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.

What if I'm already a metro customer? Is there an upgrade?
You can get the deal. I am metro and got it. There's no restriction for that. Just get 2 boost numbers on ebay. They port the numbers in and don't ask about anyone being a metro customer. You'll need to wait 35ish days after getting the phones for the line/number to go inactive, then you can call CS and have it added to your main line

From what I can see online, no. Metro phones need to be unlocked to work on T-mobile.

I bet they are likely to change the process so that it matches the policy. It was clearly a bug and it didn't work for many people.

They are likely trying to fix it as we speak. It makes no sense for them to allow auto unlock of a free phone when it's explicitly stated otherwise. People who open their drawers in 6 months might find there 6 inch micro tablets worse than what they could buy for $40.
hasn't happened in last 3 years.
dont see it happening any time soon.

but sure no one can predict what will happen in 6 months ,

and the policy posted here earlier was:

"must be 180 days since u activated service".

not

"have service for 180 days"

regardless, u can still trade the phone to a metro user for some $$

but u r right.

perhaps is best for u to stay away from this non deal.

I've seen conflicting reports here about Metro's unlock policy. Here's the relevant portion:

That's from this page: https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...olicy.html
That seems to clearly state that the policy does not require 6 months of service, just 6 months time to have passed.

I suppose it could be argued that they can change their policy at any time, but I think they would be held to the policy at the time you got the phone...
awesome. thanks for posting policy again.

so. 180 days passed from activation, phone unlocked.

pretty simple right.

I figured it out. The corporate stores do not charge sales tax. The non corporate stores do charge tax even on free phones. If i would have known this i would have gone to the corporate store that is 50 miles away. But now i cannot return everything and re purchase with no tax added. What a tragedy!
