I went to the same corporate store and got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $100. The guy tried to lie to me that I need pay $120 and set up auto pay to get the $100/4 lines deal and I said that was not correct. The guy just said "ohh, you know everything and you are like a boss" and proceeded with $100 cash.
I ported 2 numbers.

Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.

while they can refuse service to anyone., i disagree with your conclusion.

all indications are that he is a new customer

he had id & was prepared to show it.

besides all the other requirements were simply made up.

they are not part of any terms & agreement.

treating anyone like that is bad for business
I agree, stores or reps should not make up their own rules. If too many people abuse the prom, that will eventually kill the deal and future deals. Metro would add 6 months active service requirement or monthly bill credit.

Silly, I know. I didn't need the phones. Just took advantage of the deal. Lol

so be it....then no one will go to metro...simple...

but define abusing?
folks are following rules outlined....port in 2 numbers, bring id, etc etc

and this is the way most promo have been run for last 3-6 years...if they wanted to change , they would have...right?

also someone mentioned earlier, metro knows what is happening and they are fine with it....

just the store level employees are refusing, as if the phones are coming out of their paychecks

as i said, dont have a promotion and then not honor it

edit: having a 3 or 6 month requirement to get a rebate is what many do..but not metro..there must be some reason for that

I got turned down at one AD store last week using Ting SIM cards (Verizon).

Today went to another AD store with Boost numbers from eBay. This store didn't even ask me for any ID. Ask me to write my name and address on a piece of paper. When processing the order, the rep did ask for the last 4 digits of my SSN.

Got 1 n10, Apple SE, and 2 n100 for a total of $228 ($100 + $100 + $28 (probably insurance $7x4). I was surprised I didn't have to pay sales tax. Took less than 30 minutes to complete.

Two Questions , first time doing Port out promotion
1) To stop service, do I call in to cancel or just ignore them after 30 days? Most likely I will port out all 4 numbers to Google Voice.

2) Can I do this deal again if they didn't check my ID? They even made a typo on my last name. Though they did ask for the last 4 digits of SSN. I'm assuming I can repeat.

Go to another store. I posted earlier that I went to this same store and I just showed my ID and gave my phone numbers and account number to Rosa. You'd be upcharged though lol

the ss numbers are likely for them to set a pin.
it will be the same numbers twice for pin
for example. if ss numbers are 2579 then ur pin is ...25792579

just a hunch

228 wth a se included is not bad at all

no tax ? what state?

edit: to answer ur ?..read wiki...

Got the phones at a corporate store. I was never asked to set up a security password for the account but when I try to log in to my account online or on the phone I am asked to provide a 8 digit password (that I never set up in the store). Called Metro phone number and they cannot help and ask me to return to the store to reset the password. For some reason, the Metro web site tells me that I have a high security password (I was never asked about any of this at the store) which they can do nothing about. I tried some obvious possible passwords including a repeat of four digits of my soc sec number but that did not work. Anyone has a suggestion that will save me a trip to the store? I want to be able to monitor my account and see if/how my autopay is set up. Thanks.

The rep asked me to set up a 8 digit pin number. The rep that helped you was supposed to help you set that up and apparently they didn't tell you. They probably set it up themselves.

That's strange, because if I paid money for a line of service, does that not make me a new customer?

Don't offer a promotion if you have no intention of fulfilling it to prospective customers. Very simple.

Nothing within I was doing was outside of the realm of possibilities.
I used to be blacklisted by many store, amz, bb, dell, because when they

I have to admit, I abused. I got 8 free phones in 2 months with no intention to keep the service, just because I can't resist the deal.

Metro Corp is to blame for this mess. The higher ups decide to run promos to bring the #'s up, which may well happen at the end of the day.
The problem is the Local ADs and Stores suffer. They spend all this time servicing people who won't stick around and hurt their bottom lime.

It's the same when Subway Corp run all their $5 footlongs or issue BOGO coupons. The local stores get hit, their Net profits suffer. All this while Corp still get their share of higher Gross sales and raw material.
