I went to the same corporate store and got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $100. The guy tried to lie to me that I need pay $120 and set up auto pay to get the $100/4 lines deal and I said that was not correct. The guy just said "ohh, you know everything and you are like a boss" and proceeded with $100 cash.
I ported 2 numbers.

Funny thing: my friend went to the same exact store and the store not only said $120 with auto pay is required and that my friend could only get 2 N10 and 2 samsung A21, not 2 N100. My friend left with empty hands.
These stores are like shit.

I need some advice:

I went to a CS the last hour on Friday night and was in store for 40 min pretending that I was checking all phones. I waited the last 20 min for the purchase. Had two numbers from Ebay/boost to port in. So I started the process with asking him to check the numbers, he checked and said numbers were good. Then he checked the ID and said I was qualified for the switcher discount. I got 2 N10 and 2 N100 for $120, I asked for $100 deal, he said that would be with autopay but for 2nd month and after (basically $120 for both autopay and non-autopay for the 1st month, but $100 for 2nd month and after if on autopay). Declined the autopay and paid with CASH.
The activation started at 7:55. He opened all the 4 phones, wrote my name and numbers on all the boxes with a sharpie (asked him not to, he said that was company policy). At the end, he said, the two N10 were not activated prob there was an issue with the porting numbers. He said it was too late to call the corporate but gave me all the phones and said I should go back to store tomorrow so he could call to fix it. He said if I don't, I would be charged for the full price of the phones (lol). So I left.

Here is the question: Obviously, I'm not going back to store but what should I do if the two N10 are not activated?
what happens when u call the number?
what about the numbers they assigned to u?

my guess is something is wrong with perhaps the account number or pin from loosing carrier.
so port failed.

i wouldn't worry about it.

u could probably call the port dept tomorrow from home.
and go over details.
they may fix it.
they may have to resubmit the port.
be mindful of that .

if they do the plan resets and could go into suspension until thy apply credit.
is complicated. but start wit h the port dept tomorrow.

u may not have to go back to the store at all.

thats my advice.
but if u feel like it, may be safer to go back in

Just figure out the phone is not working with T-mobile sim without unlock. I thought I was misled by someone who mentioned this is a T-Mobile phone...
It requires $50 unlock fee or 6 months of service

No one, I mean no one mislead you. It was never going to work on T-Mobile. This phone is for Metro, that's own by T-Mobile. " This is not T-mobile!"

How about Metro pays a Rep to just sit here and answer questions from "Potential" customers.

Don't comment on something you don't know. I forgot the exact location maybe it is on WIKI board. Something did mention this is pretty much a T-Mobile phone.

Now I need to wait 6 months to unlock. Hopefully it works

thats too bad.

wiki wouldn't have misled u

wiki says:

metro phones are initially locked to metro for first 6 months.

(locked to metro means u can only use on metro.
not tmoblle, not sprint. not ting. not mint. metro. only metro.)

metro phones will generally auto unlock after 180 days.
this is TRUE even if u ONLY pay for one month.
Thanks for the comment. But I am not that dumb and I can remember most info I saw. There must be somewhere and someone mentioned this. While I tried to look for it and it was gone. I cannot complaint too much because I am not familiar with Metro and I didn't do some research too.

Maybe you just didn't know how to read carefully and misunderstood. No one in this thread ever said it is a T-Mobile phone and can be used on T-Mobile without unlocking.
Sometimes, it's just your own mistake and you just can't believe it because it is such a stupid mistake. People who made mistakes never think they are so dumb.
It's more likely you just mis-read "metro by t-mobile" as "T-Mobile".

Think about it, if there was ever a person who said that this is a T-Mobile phone and can be used on T-Mobile, there would be many others pointing out that was not true.

any suggestions on where to buy numbers for port in? I mean I know ebay and some users here are selling.
Just asking from those who bought and used successfully and can recommend the trusted seller

Yes they played very nasty game today. For example, they add a "-" on the name. For some reason, the system just give an message like "this customer is not qualified for the plus discount. However, you are qualified for the regular discount". I asked them what that means they said I need to pay $70 for the phone instead of free. I almost left. Then I insist I want him to try again to make sure he type everything right. He tried again with the "-" and I caught him this time. After he corrected it, that error message is gone
Woah, that's pretty scummy, and most likely a hack in the system to trick customers

Try chat online and pretend you know nothing and ask two phone didn't work and see what they tell you.
