Be forwarned that it doesn't work with netgear orbi cause you can't separate the 2.4 and 5.0 bands.
I have Google wifi that has this issue with my wyze cameras & myQ garage door opener. If you walk away far enough from your router, it auto switches to 2.4. then you can set up your device, then when you go back in range it will continue to work. It's a hassle but it's a workaround.
I read many reviews saying that too before I purchased Thermopro last summer. Seems like they've gone downhill fast with product quality and customer service. Filter by one star and most recent.

Do you have any sleep settings enabled on your phone? With power saving settings these days it's tough to tell when an app just doesn't have the right permissions.

That's a good point for overnight smokes where I do have silent settings. During the day, the app has regular permissions and the alerts only work well if I have the app running on the main screen.
I haven't used inkbird in a couple months due to this issue, they may have fixed it, since it's a software issue.
I like to use the wifi monitor when I leave the house. And the Bluetooth monitor over night, since it always works.
