Data point: Mine just came in and has the SM2262ENG BA controller which is one of the the "older" / "better" ones.

I ended up returning mine. I installed it in my Omen 30L & have a ticket open to get a replacement PC. I couldn't tell what the issue was, but I was getting 2700 MB/s read on the first test, then the immediate next test it was dropping to 100 MB/s. Still not sure if it was the drive or something with my motherboard, but hope you have better luck. I assume it was the drive getting throttled because it was actually hitting higher speeds on first run.

This is going to be my D: drive in my new build so I'm not too concerned, but hopefully no issues. Still it was a great price for a 2TB drive.
