W =F * d. According to Newton. More accurately, torque = r*F*sin(theta)

its bouncy when I hammered it on a rusted in bolt exhaust, it hit my face and broke my glasses.

use a torch if you can, before trying with these.. the longer it is, the easier to round the bolt.
What? How are you hammering it?

I prefer the pro version with the rubberized grip that is a step above this model. The Pittsburgh pro usually hovers at around $13 when it's on sale. RealToolReviews on youtube did a comparison of the pro series against the snapon/matco/mac breaker bars and the results were surprising.

Coupons do not apply to "Instant Savings" items.

I would imagine if you are breaking these trying to loosen a nut that you ought to invest in some nut buster rather than a longer pipe. I dont own this but im interested.

Not when this breaker bends like spring and your effort is used to bend it instead of turning the bolt. Ask me how I know...

Correct. Pro version is worth the extra money over this junk.

For the price, this is amazing. I have used my HF breaker bars for quite a few years and it's still great for the home mechanic. I accidentally stripped some lug nuts and used the breaker bar to twist and shear the lug bolt off. Always position yourself in a good position to break your fall/stumble if needed. Even expensive tools do break and that's just good common sense so you don't hurt yourself.

Put me in the galvanized pipe camp. I haven't broken a ratchet in 20 years of wrenching, and it's one less tool to keep up with.

Just make sure you have a second ratchet on hand...

harbor freight is about the lowest quality you can buy
This is a foolish and misinformed statement. Harbor Freight sells some stinkers, but also some great stuff. The Earthquake impacts are Snap-On clones for a fraction of the price and actually surpass Snap-On in performance. Don't listen to guys like this that don't know tools. Look up objective facts from testing.

"One less tool"
"'just make sure you have a second ratchet on hand..."

Why not have a tool that's better for the job?
Ratchet + Ratchet + pipe = 3 tools
Ratchet + breaker bar = 2 tools

For those using pipe (me) and breaking ratchets (not yet), you can get $5 off a new one at Harbor Freight with a no expiration date coupon and it'll have a lifetime guarantee. (Slickdeals thread)
