I wish this was a 3/8" not 1/2" drive.

Disappointed if you're looking for 600+ ft lbs. you're comparing this to an entirely different class of tools. The stubby has one of the best power to weight ratios on the market...

Can anyone recommend a good set of impact sockets to go along with this tool?

Can't go wrong with Tekton impact socket sets and accessories. Well built and lifetime warranty.

Any place to pick up a charger for cheap or larger battery?
Been waiting for this to go on sale.
Thanks OP!

You can also get the M12 12V 2.0Ah and 4.0Ah REDLITHIUM Battery Starter Kit with bag for $110 with code TEXT10 and free shipping. Not bad from an authorized retailer. The same kit is $159 at CPO outlet.

I got two XC 3AH batts for under sixty on Ebay but that deal is gone. You can get chargers for 15 to 20 bucks https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Genu...Swg5tc9uGc

Here are two for 69 bucks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MILWAUKE...C-High-Cap

I see a 4AH batt for fifty. OR, if you wanted, you can try the generic versions much cheaper, but I cannot attest to their quality.

Only buy from high volume and high rated vendors on Ebay but otherwise you can get some deals there...

Depends upon what you need it for... I have DeWalt 20 and 60 volt. The 12V is pretty much dedicated to the travel trailer...but not always... Try getting inside the small places in a trailer with a full size tool..not to mention the space they take up. I have one small Milwaukee soft bag for ALL of my M12 tools and charger. I used to have a big plastic box...with a mish mosh of various older tools.

Tekton was the first set I bought to go with my M12 Fuel Stubby. It's okay, but not great, I've since bought a set from Sunex, Gearwrench and Wera, and would take any of those over my Tekton. The tekton's have a tendency to slip off, and don't quite grip the bolt like the others do, Sunex and Wera especially.

Wera's obviously going to be the priciest, about $100 for a 9 piece metric 1/2 set, but it is really nicehttps://www.kctoolco.com/wera-004...-9-pieces/

Can get a 1/2" 14 piece metric set by Sunex, 10mm-27mm, for only $33, so not really any more expensive than Tekton, but definitely a step up in quality- https://www.homedepot.com/p/SUNEX-TOOLS-Socket-Set-Impact-1-2-in-Drive-Standard-Metric-14-Piece-SUN2... [homedepot.com]

HD also has a 12 piece Gearwrench set in metric or SAE for about $35, but only goes up to 19mm, and isn't really any better than the $33 Sunex, so personally, I'd take the $33 set if I needed one. Just my 2 cents

There's so many M12 tools, especially lately, that are incredibly useful and are just solid. The Fuel angle die grinder, rivet tool, soldering iron, hex driver, stubby impact of course, the new m12 fuel wet/dry vac, not to mention the M12 heated jacket- indespensible to my tool collection and extremely compact. I have the M18 Fuel One-Key 3/4" impact w/ its 1500 ft/lbs of app adjustable torque, but that just sits in my tool cabinet, the M12 fuel stubby handles basically all the automotive work I need it for, with small exceptions.

Definetely, but the downside would be that it adds length which defeats the purpose of the stubby, and lost efficiency. I agree with you though, silly complaint.

Since you already have that, yeah, probably don't need it. But, that being said, when it comes to impact guns, Milwaukee is doing it better than anything else I've tried right now. I actually bought that exact same Dewalt, returned it in a week. Much heavier and bulkier than the stubby, and the extra torque is not needed for 95% of jobs, depending on your specialty. For that 5% I bought the m18 3/4" fuel impact- kills the DCF899 in power, about the same size.

For something that could go head to head with the DCF899 in terms of similar torque and features, the M18 FUEL Gen-2 mid-torque 1/2 impact driver would be an easy choice if I had need for another. Far more compact, lighter, similar power and a lot less expensive. But not something you'd sell what you already have to buy obviously, this is intended for people who are in the market for the best available at the moment.

I ordered this earlier today the stubby rarely goes on sale so I figured a free battery is the best I'll do. I'll use the 2.0 for something else and buy a 4.0 or 6.0 to use with this tool.
I see the stubby on sale every few months (159-ish tool only) I keep considering getting it but keep talking myself out of it so I keep an eye out for it. Oddly in this case no HD by me has this item in stock nor the battery in stock either so have to order. Also not sure why you don't think the 2ah battery would suffice with the tool. Still a nice deal if you need the battery.
