Secondipity on eBay is selling the Sony SRS-XB33 Bluetooth Speaker for $72.99, and coupon code
PAY20LESSCR takes off 20% for a total of $58.39 + tax. This speaker is refurbished but includes a 2-year warranty through Allstate. This is arguably better than buying the speaker brand new since new ones only come with a 1-year warranty through Sony.
This is a highly rated speaker that's waterproof, dustproof, and uses USB-C for charging. It's one of the upgrade picks in
Wirecutter's guide to portable Bluetooth speakers [nytimes.com].
This was
a FP deal at $62.04 back in December, and now it's a few bucks cheaper!

now it has to be used while plugged in.
It also doesn't say what all will be included in the box (USB-C charging cable?)
Not the most rugged but on the solid side. Waterproof is good according to ratings ( plus floats speaker side up). Comes bare in a box with plastic bubbles nothing else. At this price point why not get 2 unless you're an audiophile, then maybe bot because it get slightly muddy at highest volume

It is worth getting two for stereo pairing. The sound is awesome with left and right channels. What is nice about the Sony SRS XB 33 is that the stereo pairing can be done entirely on the speakers themselves, with a few presses of buttons on both speakers being paired. You're not limited to using the app for stereo pairing. Other speaker manufacturers such as JBL and Ultimate Ears require the app to use the stereo function. (JBL by the way, has the worst stereo pairing, most of the time the stereo function doesn't even work).
What's also nice about the Sony stereo pair is that the speakers remember they are stereo paired. So when you shut off the speakers, and turn them back on later, they will automatically reconnect as a stereo pair. (JBL and UE stereo pairing is a pain. They forget that they're stereo paired once you turn them off, and have to go through the whole process of stereo pairing every time you turn them back on).
You're not limited to using them as a stereo pair for your smartphone only. Once they are paired together, you can connect them via bluetooth to your laptop and use them as laptop left and right channel speakers! I often do this to watch movies on my computer. And to hear the action sequences move from one speaker to the other is phenomenal. Also, there is nearly imperceptible audio lag, maybe just a slight fraction of a second if you're watching carefully; so these speakers are ideal for videos and movies.
I'm a sucker for new BT wireless tech!
The light show and charging for my iPhone is a Plus! lol

Agreed. I've purchased many refurbed electronics over the years. The only issue I've ever had with any of them is battery life. Would not be surprised if battery life was bad on these.
A bluetooth portable speaker is one of the few pieces of electronics I would not buy refurbished, unless I knew going in that I would have to have it plugged in to use.
