This is a very nice set for the price however, bits are very hard to take out from the case. I posted the same comments in the HD review for this set.
69% off. Nice!
It's been this price continuously since November. It has just been out of stock online since December to ship to home, but has been available for in-store pickup if your store has it.

It's a nice set and a good price for it.

This deal is for impact bits but you are talking about drill bits...The Milwaukee drill bits are middle of the road at best, but these impact bits are near or at the top of consumer grade tools.

For 2 popular tool lines:
Milwaukee makes very good impact bits but mediocre titanium drill bits.

Dewalt makes very good drill bits but mediocre impact bits.

Actually I'm talking about both drill bits and impact bits.

Depends what you use drill bits on but the impact bits don't last long enough for what milwaukee charges you for.

Honestly, if this was the regular price for the set I would have no complaints.

It sort of is the regular price right now. This set has been $25 continuously for 3 months without change. They've had a number of other sets priced with large discounts as well. Honestly, still not sure why it's FP deal since it's been posted and discussed a number of times.

Anyways, agree with you that if someone paid $75 for this set they should expect the bits to last a substantially longer time than the others and I wouldn't recommend the set at that price. These are very good impact bits regardless and outperform most, if not all, consumer grade bits. Drill bits not so much.

Totally agree. I love milwaukee but I was building a wrap around shelf for a garage and the amount of #2 phillips I went through was rediculous. That was pretty much the last time I went with milwaukee bits.

I bought this set at the beginning of November (1st Milwaukee impact set) and have been really happy with it so far. Hope I have better luck with it over time. Haven't broken or rounded any off yet, but haven't had a large Phillips project yet. Drove a bunch of 2 1/2" and 3" wood screws in a walkover bridge at our pond, but those were torx not Phillips so not surprised it worked great there. Still look brand new. They were the best torx bits I've used on those specific screws fwiw.

Well which one is it? Is it a nice set or is it not and we should pass on it?

I recommend this set. You aren't buying it to be a drill bit set you are buying it for the impacts which are very good. The drill bits in this set are small in size and small in number, work plenty well, and wouldn't be for heavy duty usage anyways. I've used the drill bits and they work well.

sorry for the confusion. I meant, if you want driver bits, it is good. Not for drill bits because there aren't too many. These days all the tools are expensive even after discount. I got 120 piece bit set that includes 1", 2" driver bits and about 20 drill bits included for about $15 from craftsman a few years back. Still going strong.

I'm still trying to figure out why the drill bits came up. It's 5 small drill bits within a 120 piece impact bit set. Shouldn't move the needle either way. Nobody should be considering this as a drill bit set. And it's not like the drill bits are poor quality. They are still leaps and bounds better than ryobi drill bits as an example.

All sets, similar to this, offer lots of 1" driver bits. I find myself always grab the longer bits, at least the 2" ones. Wonder if I am doing something obviously wrong, I do have bit holders.

There is bit extender available in some kits that solve the problem of bit length. I got one from craftsman that I bought about 7 yrs back. It came with the extension, 1 inch and 2 inch bits. I do end up using 2" most of the times, though if 2" bits weren't included, I would have used the extender.

If you're using a drill, the 1" bits and holder might make more sense for quick changes. I rarely use the 1" inchers either since I typically use an impact anyway.

Just curious, when do you use a square driver? I still haven't had a need for it.

I call them trailer bits because they remind me of double wide trailers.

Square head or Robertson screws are really awesome but way more expensive than Philips - worth it when you are in a position where you can't use a lot of "push" to drive a screw or need more torque

Hard to find a better value for Milwaukee bits. The case issue won't be solved by buying a different Milwaukee set because almost all of them come in these cases. Just depends if you want Milwaukee or another company.
