Microsoft has recently announced that the price of Xbox Live Gold is going up. The $60 1 year membership will now be $60 for a 6 month membership. If you are subscribed at the current rate they will honor a renew at your old price.

Retailers are now carrying the new $60 6 month cards. You can get ahead by stocking up on the old cards at their original price points being the price hike. This will make the gamepass trick more expensive too at the new price points, so now is the time.

I've provided a few good prices below. Take advantage while you can.

Costco: 2 years for $95.00

Target: 1 year for $59.99

Amazon: 1 year for $59.99

PSN is at least going to bring, literally, xcloud gaming from Microsoft. Sony signed a deal about a year or so ago for Microsoft to provide xcloud ability to PSN. There was no competing with MS because Sony was completely out of their league (cloud computing, etc..) and MS had such a solid backbone already, they created a mutual agreement.

I could see Sony slapping together some half assed version of gamepass, but i don't anticipate anything exciting. Sony has never excelled with PSN and I feel it has always been kind of a second thought. I can't see them doing anything mind blowing
Uh, Sony has had their version of xCloud for YEARS... it's called PS Now. They bought out a cloud gaming / stream gaming company called Gaikai back in 2012 (and OnLive in 2015) and merged their tech into the Playstation ecosystem.

And the deal between between Microsoft and Sony you mentioned is about Sony using Microsoft Azure.

Gotta love when people post bad information.

wow.... DOUBLE the cost now. I don't remember the last time I played xbox, but for 60/year I figured keeping it subscribed is easier than having to cancel and resub once I do decide to start playing again. But for 120/year, that will change my opinion.

I can't get the costco 2 year to work. The order keeps getting cancelled. . Tried from two different costco accounts/cards.
Had the same issue with Costco, had to call them and verify that it was me with a ridiculous amount of information before they would put the order through.

Thankfully I just did the three year GamePass ultimate deal.

Considering that the price is going up, how many months can I lock in now to extend beyond 3 years?

I'll happily extend out another 2 years if possible to put it at 5 total...
3 years is the max. You can stock up on codes and hope they still work the same in the future as they do now, but no guarantee of that.

Thats what I thought glad someone reassured that. Alot of people forgot that PS now is their gamepass. Even if its not fully fleshed out u litterly download ps4 games to the console there is no difference other then library selection

If you have Game Pass Ultimate, it converts 12 months Live Gold to 4 months GPU.

I'm about to buy one online right now, my live expires in 2 months so I'm gonna load up on 3 years.

Edit: Fark Costco, they keep cancelling my orders. Not even sure what's wrong as I've ordered from there before with the same payment info.

Apparently, once they cancel your order that still counts as a purchase so every subsequent order will be canceled due to exceeding quantity limits. So stupid...

Anyone here know if this gets "reset" at some point or if there is any other way around it?

Trying Newegg, they're the only ones that aren't charging me tax so I'm only paying about $15 more than Costco, it's not worth the headache to keep trying lol I've got like $500 in authorizations from repeated attempts.

Yeah, pretty blind/dull of me to think some numb nut on SD's has insight on a trillion dollar company...

There was an LG tv deal a few weeks ago and this ass clown was screaming up and down the thread that the tv doesn't have native 120 Hz, doesn't have this, doesn't have that, etc etc...
Of course everyone's TV had the advertised features and was a stellar deal for those who got it.
You remind me exactly of him...

Totally ignorant on the topic and blindly screaming opinions masquerading as facts. No ownership experience, no first hand knowledge. Just delusional opinions.

Seriously bud, I'm not trying to be mean but you should take a moment to reflect on how you're contributing to your fellow SDers save money and helping them score a good deal. B/C that's the end game for all of us here. We just wanna help each other get the best stuff at the best prices. Even if that means grabbing something for a lower cost now b/c it will go up in price tomorrow.
This isn't a post about a deal its a discussion post... if it makes u fell better u win
