I can tell you that you can't go wrong with the HSU. Also consider PSA tv1512 or Rythmik FV15HP if you want to take it to the next level.
I would frankly not drop $1000 on the REL unless you are chasing brand name. You get far more value for money with internet direct subs like HSU, PSA, Rythmik or even JTR, Deap Sea Sound and Funk at the top most tier.

What would happen if I removed the legs so it'll look nicer In an already existing setup, would it have any bad effects?

Been waiting on this deal, thank you. The 1205 does a great job as a music-only subwoofer. Don't let the HT name fool you. I've compared this sub to some good subs from HSU, Velodyne, RSL. It competes. At $700 it's a bit steep, but $450 is a great value.

It comes with a second set of legs, low-profile black rubber, no markings. They work better in addition to looking better than the ugly default legs.

I came here to complain that it's only the HT models that ever go on sale. But maybe you're right. I'd sure hate to pay return shipping though.

Good deal. I've been using the 10" REL subwoofer for past 18 years (got it from Tweeter) and like it very much. Both music and HT reproduction is superb. I run it 2 Martin Logan ElectroMotion mains and they match very well.

I don't recall getting a second set of legs on the 2 subs I bought, but they can be rotated so you don't see the REL logo, at least on the 12's.
