I'm pretty sure everyone can agree that this is alarming regardless of your political beliefs.
Researching the TCL 8 Series online I found so many mixed reviews & went to check it out myself at BB & they were running that same crappy BB demo so I couldn't really see the quality of the screen beyond a couple seconds of good frames. Left thinking it wasn't all that, even at the half price of $1500 it was on sale for.
Waited a few more months to see if a good sale on a 65" LG OLED would present itself before last Black Friday and in October the TCL 8 Series went back on sale again & after watching & reading a few good reviews I jumped on it this time. My jaws dropped when I saw the picture quality of just upscaled 4K YouTube TV, not to mention HDR feeds on YouTube TV.
Got Planet Earth II 4K Bluray disk as a Christmas present & could not believe the picture I was looking at. I am an OLED snob, but unless you have this TCL right beside it, you couldn't tell the difference at half the price of a comparative size (75" to 77").

Debating if I should get this or wait around for one of those deals when they sometimes go for the low $20 range. I'm assuming it will take a while to get to a price like that like the Planet Earth II/Blue Planet 4K disc combo deals from last year.

I'm too excited and going for it, good enough price and we already have to wait long enough. I might get hit by a bus before it reaches $20
