This double switch is fantastic, our ceiling fans were all wried to a single gang box, so i use the relay on/off for turning the fan on off (does not control fan speed) and then the top paddle is just a a normal dimmer.

I use smart things - and it does require a special device handler be loaded to handle it properly.

I use Zooz switches and they work great no issues so far. My only concern is what will be the issues of not buying S2 devices in the future

The dual switch looks very interesting https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/...-fan-combo
For $25 it can do scene control, and either the dimmer or the small button can be used as a remote control, not many switches support that

Thanks, im going to give a few of these a try. I have most my house wired up with the GE/Jasco switches and for the most part I have been very happy with them. Lately some of the ones ive had 3+ years have started to fail. Looks like Lowes and Home Depot have started to stop selling them. So ive been looking for a new option that looks similar to the ones i have. Hope this is the answer. Anyone else have any experience using both these and the GE/Jasco Switches?

The dual switch is phenomenal. The small switch can be used as a dry contact to control anything you want (think garage door opener, etc).

All of the Zooz switches on sale already support S2 (it's the S2 Authenticated without SmartStart support).

Is there any reason not to buy the dimmer over the on/off? Seems pretty similar with an added dimmer feature. Right?

I have the zooz double switch doing a ceiling fan/light. Works good if you only have room for a single gang box. My preference is always to have a separate dimmer and fan control (so you can adjust fan speed). But the zooz has been great. Paddle isn't as crisp as the GE's though.

I have mainly GE at my house and only one on/off switch died (click of death). But I recently used a guide to replace a capacitor and it was brought back to life. So the inovelli that had replaced it now has no home. The inovelli red is cool for features, but the config button looks off sitting new to GE style paddles.

Do most new houses have a neutral wire?

Dumb question. If my electrician wired a bathroom exhaust fan light combo to a single switch am I out of luck even with this dual switch? Or is it possible there is discrete power for the switch and light and this switch can allow them to operate independently? Let's assume the electrician did the cheapest thing they could to save wire.

Im not sure what the limit is but i had 3 switched in my cart for $59+ it had about $8 for shipping. I added one more switch to make it $79+ and the shipping was free.

Assuming the cheapest then he probably has one set of wires from the switch going to both the lights and fan which would make you out of luck. If you have the ability to run the wires from the fan and the lights separately then yes it is possible to control both.

As long as the electrical installation is up to code then definitely yes!

The dimmer has a lower electrical rating and can only be used with dimmable bulbs so there are certain locations that will require a 15 A rated switch. For lighting, as long as the total Wattage is within the specs, there's no reason to use a dimmer Smilie

I was just about to try bringing my GEs to life. What capacitor do you happen to have a picture of which one it is out of the bunch? TIA!
