Great VPN. They recently released a statement with screenshots from websites that rate VPNs for money, and basically said they are no longer playing that game. That they would rather invest that money in the platform (because some of the sites were complaining that they could not make enough commission based on their sale prices).

Take that with a grain of salt or not, but if you don't find them on the rating sites for "top VPNs of 2020, 2021, 2022 etc., I can tell you that it's not because they are not worth it.

Before the pandemic I would have to travel to about 9-12 countries per year, and Windscribe never let me down. Easy interface, quick and stable connection, and also no logs being kept.

I was lucky to get a lifetime a few years ago, and they have been getting better and better. Since that's not being offered anymore, this is a great deal imho.

Wish they had the lifetime plans available again

Windscribe has worked great for me when I was in China and in Russia.

How's the app vs. nordvpn? Nordvpn is pretty good
I've actually been thinking of switching from NordVPN since they updated the iOS and Mac apps (not sure about Android and Windows) to no longer allow manual server selection. You just have to go with whatever server they choose for you.

I've found that since they made that change, some servers become overloaded more quickly, though it still doesn't happen often, at least for me.

I believe you still technically can choose a server somehow but it's nowhere near as easy as it used to be, which was just clicking on a country and selecting the best server by server load. They also no longer show the server load as a % either.

I believe on Mac one of the categories does have a server list but they show you the server load as colored bars (green, yellow, or red) instead of by percentage.

Going to look into windscribe, it's been a while since I've seen a good deal on a VPN.

They are doing this because they have thousands of 3 year old deals expiring, so they jack up the price knowing that most would not bother to do their homework . . . greedy bastards. This will come back and bite them . . .
You're complaining about a price increase after getting 3 years of a VPN for like $35 of whatever it was last time?

You do realize that many other **quality** VPN providers charge a lot more right?

Nord, which I use, gets good reviews but the best "deal" I've seen for them in a while is $89 for only 2 years.

ExpressVPN, which to my knowledge also has good reviews, costs even more than Nord.

With the current pricing of their competitors, this seems like a great deal, assuming their service is on par with other providers.

To those wondering if they can watch Netflix contents from other countries using mobile - Yes you can. Just select "Location" on the VPN - note that not all VPNs allow this but Windscribe does a pretty good job I didn't have any problems selecting/watching Netflix contents from other country. You can also install the app on your Fire TV just search for Windscribe and log in your credentials.

Double the price of 3 years ago, but it is pretty convenient and I use it all the time.

Is the paid version faster and more reliable? I've had the free account for a while and found it to be really, really bad. If it's the same for paid, then I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Is there any way to purchase this deal without providing name and address? I'm a bit paranoid and would like to get a VPN without linking any of my personal info. Paying with a prepaid VISA or MC doesn't get around the required billing address on stacksocial.

I use this VPN. Apart from occasional drops on Android app, it's pretty good. I feel ios app is more stable than android and desktop client. Overall very happy customer and I highly recommend it.

Yes he can watch from his phone, it just doesn't work on the TV or streaming boxes without the right IP and zipcode matching for the IP.

I haven't used it in over a year (my Windscribe subscription expired last year) and was gifted ExpressVPN (which is great for geolocation and speed, in my experience, better then Windscribe, but it absolutely costs more)

I have had NO issue with Windscribe for price, and even at this price (and I'm one of the idiots kicking myself for not getting Lifetime when I could have)

but:

My cc's and whatnot go to my accountant in a different state/country I am in (I travel a lot or did before the pandemic), and I have never used Windscribe in my billing zip code ever. It wasn't a problem for me.

I was interested in the $1 per month per site deal they have. I'm thinking for football season... 4 months... $4 per year...

Depending on the location you need to select, you don't get all of them with the low price deal. I had a similar thought when using the European GamePass. Ended up renewing at $30 for the entire year so I'll have it for almost all of next season too.
