I tried to buy this deal while using the Windscribe VPN and got 403 Forbidden! Oh, the irony that I have to turn Windscribe off to buy more Windscribe.

I would only use it on that . What else would it work for? Other than Netflix
It works for all the normal streaming services.

It also helps protect your browsing history from being recorded by your ISP or mobile phone operator, so you don't have to feel so embarrassed about ordering a whole case of rosé during corona. Stick Out Tongue lol

Can be extra security when on wifi, in cases where some websites aren't setup to correctly encrypt your web traffic, or when using airport wifi.

So lots of good uses, I don't leave home without VPN. And in case you didn't notice i'm very passionate about Windscribe. Smilie

Haha yes. Stacksocial has their own fraud checks, maybe they should consider disabling that. lol

Keep getting an error 800 when submitting payment. When I try again some like you cannot create a new card.
I only use PayPal with Stacksocial. Better purchase protection than just a credit card. Smilie

Would it be possible to use this VPN service at router level ? If not what are the good options?
They provide both OpenVPN and WireGuard configuration files. Routers usually suck for VPN's though - much faster to use it on the device(s) you want to use it from. Windscribe allows unlimited devices.

According to their domain registration it was 2013-06-25, but that doesn't mean they didn't have a different name before then, or that they didn't register the domain in advance of operations.

I just paid like $95 for 2 years of NordVPN. Is Windscribe better in terms of service and server options?

I personally think Windscribe is better. I have NordVPN too but I only use Windscribe, I find NordVPN a bit clunky and the connections slow.

At the end of the day you have to ask if you're happy with what you've got. There are definitely worse VPN services than NordVPN.

That's assuming you trust Windscribe isn't monetizing user data. Every VPN says they don't log, but ALL data centers keep logs. At minimum, login and logout.

Yes, true for any VPN. It's important to see a VPN as "one of the bullets in a magazine" not _the_ silver bullet. Wink

Is there any way to purchase this deal without providing name and address? I'm a bit paranoid and would like to get a VPN without linking any of my personal info. Paying with a prepaid VISA or MC doesn't get around the required billing address on stacksocial.
You don't want everyone to know you have a small johnson? Big Grin

Have you tried a fake name & address with the prepaid? It's not like the prepaid is fool proof if you didn't buy it somewhere with no cameras & use cash & a disguise.

Your next best bet is paying for a service with bitcoin.

. I have it automatically activate anytime I use any public network or anything that isn't my own personal network, and I have zero complaints.
I can't get this feature to work. I tell it to disable for my 5GHz network and to enable for my 2.4GHz. it doesn't automatically toggle when I switch between the two. If it's on, it stays on. If it's off, it stays off. I have to manually toggle. Am I doing it wrong? I could never get this feature to work in all the years I've had it.
