The Samsung RU8000 is a decent 4k TV with good picture quality. Although lacking local dimming, it still delivers deep uniform blacks in a dark room. The RU8000 also has good SDR peak brightness and good reflection handling. The TV has a wide color gamut, but its lower HDR peak brightness can't display small highlights as intended. The overall uniformity is good, but with sub-par viewing angles, you have to sit in front of the display to enjoy the most accurate image. Motion handling is excellent with a fast response time and native 120Hz refresh rate... which helps display crisp motion with minimal blur trail. The input lag is very low, and the TV supports FreeSync VRR technology to please gamers.

82" TV's are going bye-bye so you won't see many more - might be hard to find a barnburner of a deal as that's why so many have already been clearance out during the holidays.

How come 82" tv isn't popular? I just can't understand it if 75" is?
Just like all "off" sizes... All the manufacturers are consolidating to the most popular sizes, which is now 55, 65, 75, and finally 85. The more panels of the same size they can make, the cheaper it is to make them.
I am surprised LG keeps going with the 77 OLED, but they probably have their reasons.

What about the size of a tv vs a large projector screen creates eye strain?
