thx op. how'd you find out about this? never got an email from chase.
Costco gas stations aren't coded as "wholesale clubs" so you won't get 5% for that but this offer will get you the discount.
Money is money. Also the true value of these Freedom cards is transferring the "cash back" to Ultimate Rewards points and redeeming them on your Sapphire Preferred (+25% redemption bonus) or Sapphire Reserved (+50% redemption bonus).
Edit: Since I was originally on mobile...
The TRUE value in Chase Ultimate Rewards is in their 1:1 transfer rates to their ~13 or so travel partners. The Chase Travel Portal is pretty good if you have the Sapphire Reserve and you get 1.5 cents per point. By transferring you can get 3 cents or more. Sometimes even more during promos or specials. Although if you can get around 2 cents per point you are doing just fine with Chase.

Not knocking you or the OP, in fact thanks to both of you for your info, but the best cashback card is SEARS citi mastercard. I originally got it a few years back when buying some appliances there and then used it sparingly until last year when they started offering me SIGNIFICANT cashback offers (statement credits).
Currently for this quarter I get 15% back on gas/grocery/restaurant ($500 to $1000 in purchases each month) and 15% back on online purchases ($100 to $300 each month). Both categories have repeated since last quarter and the gas one was 20% in the 3rd quarter of last year. They also email me other bonus categories from time to time. Very surprised when they started offering this because they were/are struggling financially, but I'm not complaining.
Try again. It allowed my Freedom and rejected my Freedom Unlimited but worked for Freedom Unlimited when I tried again.
I only have the Freedom Unlimited.. but yeah, same thing happened.. I tried it, and it came back with something about offer is not available for me.. I tried a few minutes later, and it worked.

Wow. never heard of such a large % cashback. Googled the card and found it's now 5% and 3%, same as my penfed card. Thanks. Fwiw, my local Sears closed up and bugged out a while back.

I have that card.beside the 15% gas etc, there's 4% on everything, and 20% on online stuff (both time limited). The problem with the card is that it is a Mastercard which I believe precludes one from using it at Costco.
This is what I saw when activating for my Amazon Prime card. Had I known about this I could have earned over $60 in additional rewards. I'll be checking this link monthly now just to see if anything is available, assuming that's the only way to find out about these offers to our accounts. Attachment 9827050
