thx op. how'd you find out about this? never got an email from chase.
Costco gas stations aren't coded as "wholesale clubs" so you won't get 5% for that but this offer will get you the discount.
Money is money. Also the true value of these Freedom cards is transferring the "cash back" to Ultimate Rewards points and redeeming them on your Sapphire Preferred (+25% redemption bonus) or Sapphire Reserved (+50% redemption bonus).
Edit: Since I was originally on mobile...
The TRUE value in Chase Ultimate Rewards is in their 1:1 transfer rates to their ~13 or so travel partners. The Chase Travel Portal is pretty good if you have the Sapphire Reserve and you get 1.5 cents per point. By transferring you can get 3 cents or more. Sometimes even more during promos or specials. Although if you can get around 2 cents per point you are doing just fine with Chase.

You mean put my notes of which CC to use at which store on my phone? I suppose I could do that but it's the same amount of work as writing it down on paper and putting it in my wallet. Every time I update it I have to transfer the new file to my share and then to my phone using a file explorer program. Then I have to open it with the file browser program. Or just pull out a piece of paper.
My point was the ever-changing categories makes it a pain to remember which CC to use at any time (regardless if I use paper notes or notes on a phone). Perhaps everyone else has better memory than I do and doesn't have this issue?
i get 4% on my costco citi card for gas at any costco station up to $7,000/yr, but maybe worth it to use my freedom flex for the next week or two at the Racetrack gas station.

Neither are Sam's Club gas stations, general FYI.
Both will work for "gas" bonuses, but not "warehouse."
Just go in store and grab a cash card. I usually get a $500-1000 one every time warehouses are included and use it at pumps save it for non-qualifying quarters in-store.

Yes. But you don't need to wait a year to get your cash back.

If that's the case, then we don't need to use the cash card only for gas right? (Cash card be used towards whatever) lol

Good idea. Can a non customer but a cash card and use it in store without a member present?
