I have 805 fico and they decline my Application for Venture credit card and wasted 1 credit check. I won't be applying any Capital one credit card anytime soon.
Call the reconsideration line, could be an error on the app or a typo. Happened to me before
Keep in mind that you'll also get a hard pull from all 3 bureaus anytime you apply for a Capital One credit card.

Does capital one let you lroduct change from the annual fee version to the non fee version? Even if I don't get the bonus?
I have been checking with CapitalOne since last year abt upgrading me to a card with no annual fee. Nothing was ever available so that's why I applied for this card n I got approved. Now I can close the card with the annual fee. I actually got a better interest rate n higher credit line n no more annual fee. Getting the $200 bonus is great too. I took a chance in applying n it paid off for me.
You can't have an 800+ credit score if you have too many credit cards. If a person has a 800+ credit, why would they waste their time for $200-300 on a credit card application?
Credit scores have nothing to do with net worth. Credit utilization has everything to do with credit score. Let's say you have a $50,000 in available credit. If you have a balance of $40,000. That hurts your credit score because of high credit utilization. If you have too many credit card accounts, that hurts your credit score. If you have $90,000 in available credit between accounts. That is too much available credit. If you open and close credit cards in a short period of time, that hurts your credit score.

I also have an 800+ credit score and was declined when i applied.
I think they are NOT interested in people with excellent credit.
We've approved you for a Quicksilver with Adjusted Terms–with the same unlimited 1.5% cash back rewards and no annual fee!
New card member offer removed with the adjustment. Bummer.

Not sure of your definition of too many CC. I do not even know how many I have, but I do have 30+ yrs of FICO score. My scores varies between low 800 and high 700.
There is no waster time for me every time when i get a CC.
Btw, for those who are interested in this card, watch out on the mailers, I got the $250 offer on this card with $500.

Too bad I just got the Venture card.
You are checking boxes that most cannot check that FICO values for credit scores. Length of credit history (30+ years). In addition your credit score (700-800)is inline with what you are saying.
People comment on these threads with lies, nonsense or both. I was implying if a person truly has an 800+ score (probably 820 or higher) they do not waste their time applying for cards for a $200 bonus and then cancel the card. If they did they would not have a 800+ FICO score.
I am not saying that people shouldn't open new cards or reduce the number of credit cards. I am saying some here believe it's that time of year. Time to get all my credit card sign up bonus money for the year. Cancel the card and do it again next year. That is their mentality.
A person really only needs a 760 score or better to get whatever they need using the credit system.
Got 2 different emails and a mailer for the $250 bonus. Declined with a 775 credit score. Capital one, I guess our relationship is done. Terrible customer service and triple pull, no reconsideration unless you want another triple pull. I really don't see any reason to do business with this bank.

HansGruber, I'm sure you realize that your logic doesn't necessarily jive with the SlickDealer's mentality. Folks here are indeed just looking to take advantage of these credit card bonuses. A majority of these folks have 800+ credit scores. From experience, they know they stand very little risk in damaging that score.
The once a year "binge signup" is a very effective strategy that is well documented in the legendary App-O-Rama threads on FatWallet forums. You apply for several cards on the same day so that it only records 1 credit pull. If you apply for one card today, and one card next month, and then another one 2 months out, this will record several credit pulls in three months. This behavior will certainly raise eyebrows can cause new applications to be rejected.
Since that time, many credit card companies have established policies that prevent you from signing up for bonuses more than once every 2 years. I guess Capital One established separate criteria to single out us SlickDealers with 800+ FICO doing a hit and run bonus grab.

Exactly! Be responsible n there shouldn't be a problem. It's what you make it.
Would we be eligible this year for the QuickSilver?

Then I got a capital one checking account ( due to promo), they approved me instantly.
Btw, score is only part of the equation.
