I hired a credit cleanup company that was a waste of money. I got a secured card to start. I paid off all my disputed unpaid accounts, used the secured card to re-establish credit then applied at C1 with a FICO under 600 and surprise I got approved for $1k. In 7 months they increased credit line to $2k. I had a dispute and C1 immediately credited my account the money while they contact vendor. I had a C1 acct decades back when I had a 790 FICO and no issues then.
I got the $200 cashback, no prob. I am very grateful to C1, and learned FICO is very fickle... When I pay off all my CC balances, my FICO has been as high as 733, after making lots of purchases, FICO has dropped as low as 677, keep a low balance of less than 20% helps the score.
I don't know how their approval process works but I'm very grateful to C1.
This past week, Capital One upgrade my card automatically to a Quicksilver Cash Rewards.
Ive been able to get approved for a card with 25k limit, while simultaneously getting a decline from Capital One. They're a fraud.
