Special interest Instant Pot version with unique features not found in other models. MAX has significant upgrades the electric pressure cooker and saute functions. Lowest price was $80 briefly for a few hour lightening deal last year. This may be a final stock clearance. If I did not already have mine then I personally would not gamble on $20 for a chance to score this great 15 p.s.i. electric pressure cooker.

$100 is nearly two thirds off the intro price. MAX is intended to be a pro pressure cooker with Saute designed to meld the power of 15 p.s.i stove top cookers with I.P.'s advanced automated electric pressure and temperature control which eliminates unwanted steam release while cooking. Three level Pressure Cook, digitally adjustable Saute Hold and ferment temperaure functions are bar none. There are mixed reviews on the performance of the Sous Vede and Slow Cooker modes which should have been left off imo since they do not work well on any I.P. Critics did not like that or the high price so MAX was never made or sold in high numbers.

But for $100 imo a tri-pressure pro-grade electric pressure and Saute pot with the fully adjustable digital controls and readout of internal temperature in real time is a great buy. I don't care about S.V. or slow cooker modes which I will never use.

What is Instant Pot? The Instant Pot innovation has always been about automation of the stove top pressure cooker by eliminating steam release during cooking and the constant attention stove top pressure cookers demand and require. This is accomplished with sensors ( MAX has extra ones ) and controls which maintain precise temperature and pressure such that little or no steam escapes. Nearly all the water and food aromas are conserved. Full automation allows unattended cooking. The other innovation is to combine this with saute to yield a highly effective multi-cooker. These two core functions are what I.P. does best. MAX perfects the performance of these core tasks with the addition of a 15 p.s.i. cooking option, automating the steam release after cooking while also allowing the chef to dial in precise saute and keep warm temperatures and to know actual internal temperature.

As great as I.P. is their marketing confuses consumers with superfluous buttons and unnecessary functions. Many people who have yet to try electric pressure cooking know little about its ease of use or benefits especially if they have no conventional pressure cooking experience. It seems this is one product that requires hands on trial to dispense skepticism. I have to admit to being in this camp and it was due to Instant Brands gimmick marketing approach.

After trial of several models this year I settled on MAX for its infinite temperature adjustment, higher wattage, 15 p.s.i. capability the automatic programmable steam release, better lid. real time temperature read out, ease of programming and informative display. Others may not need these features so its not slick for them because basic 6 qt Instant models have been available for $50 .

Good videos on Amazon listing page. The FAQ is helpful.

Amazon just changed the listing to Limited Time Deal. These may be in their final days of clearance. I'm not seeing any alternate 15 p.s.i. fully automated electric pressure cookers with infinite saute temperature control for this price.
