They used to be that safe buy 'no compromise' phone, but is now no longer the case. The S21 generation removed a historical number of features you might wrongfully assume are still present.
The S21 may have a better camera, faster display, SoC, and bigger battery... but not without the cost of:
- Losing the headphone jack (they want you to buy their expensive Galaxy Buds)
(but you can use any wireless/bluetooth headphones) - Doesn't come with headphones anymore (they want you to buy their expensive Galaxy Buds)
(But the headphones they came with are crap, so no loss) - Doesn't come with charger anymore (luckily most won't need one, but is still a con)
A quality fast charger will cost you about $30. - Losing expandable storage (SD slot)
If you can't store all your p0rn in 512gb, this is a problem - Losing Samsung Pay MST (the only thing that set Samsung apart from competition is GONE -- allowed using mobile payments at kiosks that don't have NFC)
- Glass to plastic (Not necessarily bad thing, but for some might be)
Saving the sands on our beaches, so this is to help the environment
Of course some or all of these might not matter to many, but there is no doubt the S21 is a DOWNGRADE in many areas compared to all recent years in the Galaxy lineup.

All of the fine print just says add a qualifying plan (new subscriber here), I want to read where it says exactly what plan is necessary, no guessing lol

If this is correct, still seems like a good deal even without the Shop Card, especially if you have the SE 2020 since the trade in value is more than the original cost of the phone.
