I may be entirely incorrect, however I sincerely remember reading YEARS ago that Japan has strict laws requiring manufactures to support their products for ten years.

That does not mean a Warranty for ten years.

That did mean inks, security updates, bug fixes, and driver updates for ten years ..... I don't know if the ten years started at the time of release or time of last unit made.

..... I wish we had that kind of protection here in The States Frown
