Might be a repost, but worth a repost. This company, Bona Fide Masks, is terrific and very helpful. I've placed serval orders with them. They did their research regarding KN95 masks. Powecom, the brand of KN95 masks they sell, has been around for years and has been FDA approved under emergency use (one of the only brands of KN95 masks that is).

I bought the 10 pack in the last office depot deal. Good to have backup fda approved masks but:
  • Too small for all the adults in the family (we all are "normal" sized wearing m/l)
  • Ear strap on 1 of 3 pulled off after a single use, probably related to size issue.
  • The writing on the front of mask is excessive and bothered us more than i thought it would.
  • There is a semi perforated line below the nose wire so thin it looks like it could puncture/rip easily

The nose wire works well and we all felt we could get a decent though uncomfortable seal going. Materials seem legit. Overall would only recommend this if you don't have other n95 or better masks or you need backups

Heads up that they take much longer to ship than claimed. I ordered on January 25th and they didn't ship my order til February 8th.

FYI, around the time of the Office Depot deal, they were listed Powecom's "non-authorized companies" page, so the ones you got may be fraudulent.
Office Depot is no longer on that list but you can an old version of the page on Jan 28 from Wayback Machine [archive.org].

In another thread, someone posted photos of their Office Depot Powecom masks and they looked exactly like the masks that were listed as counterfeit by the CDC [cdc.gov].

These masks [cdc.gov] tested by the CDC are legit, notice how the design of the lines on the mask are different.

I'm not impressed with these compared to my 3M. The fibers start separating and are very itchy against the face. They last only a week or two of limited use, compared to a month or more with my 3Ms that just get dirty.

why still pay $1 / kn95? You can now get proper N95 for close to $1-2 each. for backup sure, but stick to N95 especially now that supply is coming back in.

For those who want N95s, I've had good experiences buying from here: https://www.tasco-safety.com/prod...20-ct.html

As I've said before, I teach in Powecoms and get a good seal from them (headband-style), but I use N95s for errands/grocery runs.

I like these masks and feel I get a great seal. Sure N95 will be better but id like to save that for hospital workers that need them more than me

This was not my experience. I ordered 50 last time and I had them within a week.

I got the headband style ones. Pretty good seal, not as good as my 3M N95 that I use at the hospital. But they have the cheapest loops that rip off so you only get a few wears out of each.

These are good quality masks. They are proven to be effective and they've been reviewed multiple times for the FDA's Appendix A [fda.gov] list, which puts them way above other KN95 masks. Aaron Collins' excellent real-world testing [youtube.com] also showed that these masks are very effective at filtration without being difficult to breathe through. And, they're coming from a reputable vendor (unlike all the shady eBay and Amazon 3rd party ones). They're economical too - a good quality respirator like this can be used in rotation [nd.gov] for weeks - I get around 40 hours. Personally, I find that the headband style fits me better than the earloop ones (same filter material); they're also available in black here:
https://bonafidemasks.com/face-ma...ace-masks/

This is exactly the kind of mask that we all ought to be using. At this price, there's no reason to bother with makeshift cloth masks or so-called "surgical" masks, few of which have any sort of data to prove effectiveness.

I purchased some of these from this seller about a month ago for a similar price. I have been really impressed with the quality. One nice surprise has been how much better these masks are at directing my exhales through the filter rather than up to my eyes and fogging my glasses.

For anyone curious on how these masks manage to filter such fine particles, this video is very interesting:

Great find, repped. Those are top quality masks - easy breathing, extremely high filtration, and it's a huge relief to be able to use a real N95. These have the foam in the nose too - great to reduce fogging on glasses. While Texas America Safety Company (Tasco) doesn't seem to be an authorized 3M distributor, they are a well known US-based company, established long before the current pandemic. The helpful sales agent even had the appropriate Texas accent. I've not used them before but they seem legit, so we'll see how it goes. 20 masks for $29 plus around $10 shipping makes this an excellent value.

The ones I received match the pictures you linked on the legit masks when comparing the lines and lettering.

Looking at the min/max filter efficiency 93.19/94.87 on the counterfeit ones, would you say they are similar to other n95 (but not niosh rated) masks you've looked into?
