The Gateway's battery is replaceable. Its OEM-supplied C: drive is also replaceable. The RAM, sadly, is soldered on. As usual for this class of device, there are no specifications we could find that made it clear whether the M.2 slots on the board are NVMe capable or SATA only. We suspect the "Foresee" 256GB SSD installed from the factory is SATA only, judging from its performance.
The second M.2 slot, to the left of the CPU, is at least keyed properly for M.2 NVMe drives—but we did not try adding an NVMe-only drive to confirm.
