As a dual max owner that has them on stereo pairing... I think 2 of these nest audios on stereo would sound nearly if not just as good to most people in most situations. I have a 25 ft cathedral ceiling great room that is quite open and large with 2 Max's in it, and unless you consistently play your music at 80% volume you probably won't be able to tell too much of a difference between the max and these (I also have 2 nest audios). The nest audios sound great and should suffice for most people. Wouldn't worry too much about holding out for the max

My older google home can do this so I'd imagine these would be able to as well
I have not tried these, but with home mini at least there is very noticeable delay over bluetooth, so it works fine for e.g. playing music from the computer (which you could actually just cast instead), but not good for gaming or watching video.

On sale a Sam's for $139.98 until 2/27. Free shipping for "Plus" members, since I am not a "Plus" member, it only cost me $5 for shipping, so it's a little bit cheaper at Sam's.

thats all of google speakers for ya. dont even need to mention original google home (serious garbage) or those minis.
even the google home max. shit was (still is) so hyped up i was excited to get it and they sound worse than my 20 yr old gateway 2.1 speakers that came bundle to my then windows entertainment system. and i am not exaggerating.
those suckers that bought the home max at close to msrp i seriously pity. actually hate myself a little too for even buying it at 149. but whatever.
I had those Gateway speakers. You are exaggerating.

Received these yesterday and so far I'm completely unimpressed. Hollow sounding treble and lacking sorely in bass.
Cant decide if its worth sending them back or just keep them as expensive nest mini replacements. If you want these as a good pair speakers for music, I would think twice.
Yeah their alright. Thinking maybe I should have bought the Sonos Ikea one. For same price, that sounds better. I already have a bunch of Chromecast Sony and jbl stuff though.

I actually like my Google mini, but the reviews say the nest mini is an upgrade, so I assumed this would be far better.

Can I pair two of this to my Sony TV to get a better sound when playing movies?

picked these up from this deal last week, they came in today definitely an upgrade from the OG Google Home or the mini, both of which I have. The mic hears your voice from further away better and music / podcast sound fuller. I picked up the charcoal ones and added bonus they look way better than the GH or minis

gateway back then made shit ton of products and different lines. you wouldnt know they're the same. even if they were, i STILL have them and compared side by side with the max. blows the max out of the water.

Lol, a 2.1 system having more bass than a 2.0 system is typically a given so that's just a stupid comparison. When I first got these I was unimpressed but I'm guessing they updated and sound better now. It's not a drastic leap from the original Google home like some people say but in stereo it's definitely an improvement. I have these in my bathroom and they sound pretty good on there. This is a system that compromises for size and convenience, if you want better sound for an office then get some nice bookshelf speakers. If there's a better system that is google home and spotify compatible with a low profile I'd love to know.

nowhere did i mention bass nor did i say im doing apples to apples. and im comparing 'max', googles best speaker offering which is touted by so many sheeps on forums and shills on youtube praising it like as if it was something out of this world minus sonos, to a cheap, bundle 2.1 speaker which costs a fraction - making a point that google speakers are garbage if you cared for sound. convenience factor i give you.

I got these to replace my old Logitech Speakers that I've had for over a decade. The highs and mids had become horrible, or maybe I just started noticing it now. I am very happy with these google nest speakers.

Anyways, for some reason other commenters say this coupon doesn't work on the Charcoal color. That's not true. I bought the Charcoal speakers with the coupon and it worked for me.

You're getting downvoted for who knows what reason. Google Assistant is the best assistant, I think that's pretty obvious but the original line of Google audio products were awful. The Home Max was the only good one but that's definitely not what most people bought. I have a Google Home Max and I feel bad saying it, I feel guilty and like I want to get my ears checked but my Apple HomePod sounds better than the Max. The Google Home Max definitely, without a doubt, gets significantly louder but beyond 75-80% volume lots of music just starts to sound awful.

The HomePod still sounds great at max volume and it's so much smaller. Google was always a disappointment in audio but they made up for it by bundling these things away with anything they possibly could and several deals with Spotify where they were practically free. People get so attached and personal with electronics, I'll never understand it.
