We're making changes to how Free users access LastPass across device types. LastPass offers access across two device types – computers (including all browsers running on desktops and laptops) or mobile devices (including mobile phones, smart watches, and tablets). Starting March 16th, 2021, LastPass Free will only include access on unlimited devices of one type

Sigh. Knew this would happen eventually.

Oh well, time to see what Bitwarden is all about now since (like many others I'm sure) I use both device types. I'd say Lastpass lost me as a user, but there probably isn't any love lost there anyway since I was only ever on the free tier... Smilie

Wow, that's a bummer for LastPass users. I never really used it as I didn't like it's user interface. Instead I have been using Dashlane as a way to combine my password manager and VPN subscriptions. I suggest anyone using LastPass Free, that doesn't want to upgrade, switch to Bitwarden. It's free tier is pretty good.

I switched to bitwarden over 1 year ago. Couldn't be happier. using the free tier, works great with chrome & edge browser (on mac and Windows), works well on Android. I don't use iOS so no idea about how well it works there.

I paid for a few years and then they made everything free essentially. Was wondering when they would revert back.

what would prevent Bitwarden from doing the same?
Lastpass premium changed from $12/year to free 3 years ago, this is more of user acquisition strategy

It's possible, but it's not the case right now. No use in getting caught up in hypotheticals.

FYI, The subscription is $2.25/month billed annually. The original post makes it sound like $2.25 annually.

Tried 1Password and it's not the greatest solution. Kind of hard to beat LastPass's integration on iOS, MacOS, and PC.

bit warden has the option to host the database locally, I'm hosting mine on a RPI, so that will always be free.

Also, if you Apple Keychain and Chrome on other devices like I do, here is a plug-in that lets you Keychain on Chrome:

That's exactly why I liked it so much, use it on iPhone and PC at work.
