We're making changes to how Free users access LastPass across device types. LastPass offers access across two device types – computers (including all browsers running on desktops and laptops) or mobile devices (including mobile phones, smart watches, and tablets). Starting March 16th, 2021, LastPass Free will only include access on unlimited devices of one type

How do you save security question answers in Bitwarden? LastPass had a notes field. Does BW have something similiar? I downloaded it but didn't see anything

There's a notes field in Bitwarden also for each login entry. My Lastpass export to BW import brought those over perfectly it seems.

I notice no one is talking how SECURE Bitwarden (or LP for that matter) are. Any security experts out there? Keeping all your eggs in one basket with a single password is pretty risky. You may have 2FA set up but what about their servers being secure on the backend?

Thanks. Sadly, it appears that there is no way to use that and be able to pay using my Google Play balance since they take you to the website and that only allows credit card payment.

BTW I see a similar problem with BitWarden, no way to pay using Google Play balance.

Unfortunately, you're correct that you can't get $27 promotion if you are using your Google pay balance to pay. I sent last pass a message and that's what they told me.

They also told me that I don't qualify for the $27 promo because I've been a loyal LastPass Premium member for five years, as the promo is only for a first-time Premium users.

I hadn't even noticed that the $27 rate wasn't showing up if you upgrade in the app, but you're right! As for not qualifying for the $27 rate if you are not a new Premium user, it's offering it to me, although I am not a CURRENT Premium user. So what they said is not accurate.

lol. I guess the rep doesn't know the company's promotion (I'll cut him some slack because it's a new promo).

I currently am a Premium user and don't qualify. Although I've been using Premium for nearly half a decade, I haven't used a single Premium feature and only signed up for Premium to support them.

I don't think that's an issue because of the way the encryption is done. Even their own employees couldn't snoop.

For this reason, if you lose the master password and can't get into the account, that's it, no one can help you (unless you made a local backup, of course). Just like when people lose access to their Bitcoins.

On an unrelated note, and just to record it here, I've been on BW for a day now, and it's really, really, really similar to LP. It looks different, and of course there are some differences in the Premium space, but the free version is remarkably similar, all but a copy of the functionality. Not a bad thing.

Starting March 16th, 2021, LastPass Free will only include access on unlimited devices of one type. Computers and Mobile Devices are considered two different device types, and they will make users to pick one type for their usage or else users will have to pay.

There are several alternatives - https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-b...d-managers

Bitwarden, among of all the alternatives, seems to have better reviews in PlayStore. .

IMO, LastPass should end their Free version (or significantly limit it, say, only 40 free passwords). Then they should make the paid version cheaper, such as $10 per year. This way, users won't feel being price gouged and they can get more revenue overall.

I switched over to BitWarden and I like it. It's pretty easy to import your passwords from LastPass too.

Been a LastPass user for many years and have talked many people into using it, but after they announced this a couple days ago, I'm now on the BitWarden bandwagon. Seamless transition with importing my LastPass data.

Will be moving shortly.

Funny this is what gets me to pay for a password manager, but eff LP. I've come up with some bad business ideas, but this one is a great way to piss off users.

I have been using a few of them at the same time - LP, Dashlane, Bitwarden and now NordPass. They all have some features I like. I used LP most often and got used to its logic. One can also sync between them, because every time you make a new password or update an old one, each app pops up a window prompt to update its respective entry.

After this announcement I disabled LP extensions in my browsers to see what it would feel like w/o LP - and I must say - so far I do not miss it. I made Bitwarden my default fill-in password manager on my phone and it works just as well.

So sayonara LP, you have been a good tool, until greed has overcome your new masters (LogMeIN blows chunks - they kill everything they touch).

Officially deleted my LastPass account today after trying out Bitwarden and being satisfied. A little adjustment of course. Mainly I keep looking for a bright red button/app but now I need to look for blue, and I'm used to the autofill buttons although they could be annoying. But definitely not worth paying $27, let alone $36 or $48 for LP.
