We're making changes to how Free users access LastPass across device types. LastPass offers access across two device types – computers (including all browsers running on desktops and laptops) or mobile devices (including mobile phones, smart watches, and tablets). Starting March 16th, 2021, LastPass Free will only include access on unlimited devices of one type

If LastPass had a reasonable one-time fee I would buy it but I'm not doing a subscription model when there are decent free options out there.

Like many, I used to be a paying member before it went free. Unfortunately, I've already gotten my family used to LastPass with their own accounts, and for aging parents, getting them used to tech is hard enough. I guess I'm picking up the family plan. It's better for my sanity than trying to teach them something new.

At least give BitWarden a try. I, like you, was reluctant to switch as I've gotten several family members hooked up with Lastpass over the last few years. But once I set up BW (took 5 minutes to setup and get everything imported from LP) and then showed them how it compares, they were good with the switch and it was fairly seamless for them.

how is Bitwarden on Pixel phones? I have a pixel 4A and the Lastpass extension has been broken for awhile - it doesn't recognize my finger print when I'm trying to log into apps ... I have to launch Lastpass separately and copy/paste the password. 1st world problem ... but not one I'm willing to pay for if Bitwarden works

I've been using LastPass for years now. No more. They did what they said they were going to do today, and I couldn't use it on my phone and pc. Technically, they allowed me to switch my "one device" to the phone, but they only allow that a few times apparently, and I'm not about to get into that hassle.

Thanks to several of the comments here, I decided to switch over to BitWarden and it was pretty painless. I exported my vault to .csv and then created a BW account and imported it. Only took 10-20 secs to import over 2K passwords/records, and then I proceeded to install the desktop program, add the Firefox extension and download the app onto my android.

Time will tell if I find anything missing that Lastpass had, but first impression is that I'm super pleased with their interface. My passwords look much more organized and appear to be easily accessible. And I'm not sure whether I needed the desktop program or not. I used to have that with Roboform, but I always just used the online vault with Lastpass. Appears I can do that with BitWarden as well.

What's funny is I usually hold Tom's Guide in high regard, but there was an article published 4 days ago that didn't even mention BitWarden. Makes me wonder if Tom's Guide articles are financially influenced by the sites/apps they recommend or something.

The comments on that article are from 2018 so it looks like it was slightly edited and recycled. I don't know if that was the original unedited list of alternative password managers from that time or not though. I've been liking BitWarden more than I did LastPass so much so that I think I'm going to pay the $10 for Premium to support the company.

I just did the same thing - paid the $10 to support the company because I have been enjoying it.
