I did a camera comparison test between my pixel 3a, iPhone SE 2020, moto g stylus, moto g power and moto z2 force..... I was very impressed with the stylus camera. After I traded in my pixel 3a for the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, I did another comparison test. Even in some shots with bathroom towels, I can see more detail with the towel fibers than the iPhone SE 2020 and Samsung Galaxy A71 5G which has 64mp camera. The iPhone SE 2020 still had the best overall camera of the bunch but the stylus camera is quite impressive. I think color accuracy is better than the power too. You can't go wrong with either but the Stylus camera is definitely better than the Power's camera. Is the camera improvement alone worth the extra $50? Probably not. If you are interested in using the stylus, improved camera, the cool indigo color and getting 128gb storage, I think it is worth the extra..... But you are taking a little hit with battery life. Stylus has 2-3 days battery life.... The Power has 3-4 days. 3 days with normal use and 4 days with light use.. Battery life is insane with the Power and beats the moto z play battery life and I didn't think that could be possible. I laugh when people and reviewers brag about "all day battery life".
Thanks for the feedback. I wish the Stylus model got rid of the stylus for more battery capacity. The stylus seems more like a gimmick to check off a feature box, and I'd be concerned about losing the stylus (maybe it can accidentally pop out?) and then having some useless empty space in the phone unless getting a replacement.

If the battery capacities were equal, I think it would definitely be worth paying $50 more for the Stylus model for the better camera and more storage. With the Power having a better battery, it's a closer call and I guess up to user preference and how much one values paying an extra $50 (+ sales tax) on a phone.

One nice thing buying these discounted phones from Fi is that sales tax is charged on the discounted price of the phone. Some places charge sales tax based on the pre-discounted price.

You don't have to worry about losing the stylus pen. The stylus pen fits really nicely in the phone. You can throw/drop the phone and the stylus pen won't ever fall out. The stylus pen works nicely with writing notes, editing and some gaming. Sketching is ok but the screen is small so a tablet makes more sense. I like to use it with signatures..... I don't use the stylus pen much but it works nicely.... Much better than a cheap $5 stylus.

It only started lagging recently. When it starts lagging, sometimes the app shuts down by itself.
Oh wow, it shuts down the app?! How many times a day are we talking?

I just learned of reports that the Moto G Power that Fi sells (and perhaps other Moto phones they sell) cannot work on Verizon's data network (including any Verizon MVNO) even though they are advertised as unlocked. Apparently, it has something to do with a special ROM loaded on the Moto Fi phones that's different than the retail unlocked version. See below links.

Does anyone know if these issues are still ongoing or have they been fixed thru software updates? I wasn't planning to use this phone on a Verizon network later, but I was planning to use it on a T-Mobile or AT&T MVNO. Does anyone know if there are any similar issues on other networks?

Found another thread mentioning problems using the Moto G Power on Tello as well (no LTE data). I am worried now. Hopefully, the problem will be fixed by Motorola when I try to use the phone on Tello in a couple months.

I think this issue has been resolved. I'm using a G Power fine on Hello mobile and will be trying it on Tello once I get my SIM card from them.

Hello mobile uses TM networks and same for Tello (technically uses Sprint's network). The problem talked about is with Verizon and it's MNVOs, so 4G data should work regardless of any problem, with Hello and Tello.

I read the whole thread and the main issue was with Tello and some with Hello, but granted it was from last year when Sprint was around.

Sounds like there was two separate problems and threads, one with Hello/Tello and TM/Sprint, and another with Verizon and it's MNVOs. From what you're saying, it sounds as if the Hello/Tello problem might just be resolved, but the other thread mentions the problem that used to exist with Team Mobile/Tello/Hello meaning it's already been resolved as you indicated. I haven't heard nor seen anything that says the Verizon problem has been solved. Not saying it isn't, just nothing has led me to believe it's been fixed.

Is the Tello problem with former Fi Powers which is what he's referring to with the Verizon issue? I didn't see where it was brought up, just talking of Powers in general.

Yeah, I got my Power from the Consumer Cellular deal at Target and was using it with Total Wireless when all of a sudden it stopped working saying that my SIM card wasn't in the original phone. It turned out to be an issue with Verizon and all of their MVNOs because of a change in Verizon's policy. Lots of complaints about this online since it affected many phones from different manufacturers.

Oh wow, thanks for that info, I had no idea it was so far reaching. So it's working now on TW then? Bc sounds like Powers originating from Fi still have the Verizon no LTE data problem, unless I'm just reading the wrong threads.

Wow, that's quite a few separate problems with Powers switching providers then getting no data.

for someone like me who doesn't want to switch carriers this still sounds like a good deal if your willing to wait 2 months to use your own phone number and different carrier. you must buy a number that can be ported from ebay then get the cheapest plan and not use the service then cancel.

based on my math (correct me if i'm wrong):

+$49 fi credit
+$20 referral credit
-$49 phone purchase
-$35 for 2 months (2 line plan)
-$11 buy a phone number to port on ebay

total cost: $26 per phone for 4.8 months of service (with FI credit) then cancel or $75 without the Fi credit and cancel in 2 months

make sure not to pull the sim card out until day 61 or you get charged the full price of the phone.
this is my follow up. turns out that the ebay seller had given me numbers that weren't active on verizon and was not able to transfer those numbers to Google Fi (the app instantly notified me the transfer failed, agent told me the number was probably inactive by Verizon). i had to contact the ebay seller and he had to send me two new numbers that actually worked. i'm currently activated, numbers transferred, all set up and now waiting the 61 days to use these phones with my real numbers on T-Mobile. make sure if you do this you are able to get new numbers (and account info) from the ebay seller if the first ones given don't work.

for $20 FI credit you can use my referral link: https://g.co/fi/r/RC0UJ4

Did the term change to one month? "Activate the qualifying phone on a new full service plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify) within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and remain active on Google Fi with your qualifying phone for 30 consecutive days."?

I believe that's for the Moto One 5G Ace only, the others phones are two months, according to this thread.

If you are talking about the Moto G Power, the promotion says "Activate the phone on a new full service plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify) within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and remain active on Google Fi with your qualifying phone for 60 consecutive days."
