This one has lte and an app. I have the regular one that usually goes on sale for $250 in 2 of my cars. I will never have another car without it, the range on those is absolutely crazy. Nothing but great things to say for the 2 I have.

Anyone know how this affects the car battery? Will I have issue with having enough CCA to start in the winter with the LTE running all the time?

Won't affect your battery. It uses very little amps to run the cell side of it. It will try to start 3 times in a row then stop. If your battery is weak it won't even try.

Subscription is around $300 for 4 or 5 years. For lte there's a cutoff voltage that can be set by the installer. In the winter I wouldn't expect more than a day or two, which completely defeats the purpose.

Honestly the drone module isn't worth it and it's best to skip it. The only reason to get it is if you work very far away and have to take a shuttle or metro to get to your car.

Under 7 mA in standby. I regularly let my car sit for a week at a time, and my crappy Subaru battery has never died.

Drone mobile is AT&T LTE network, I am not sure about NYC. In Alabny NY is good..

If you have manual A/C controls, can you set the temperature through the app even if you have manual A/C dials? (I assume no).
