I've purchased the C800 turret cameras as well as an NVR from Annke and they work very well. Easy to install and set up. App for mobile and PC works pretty well also. As for 5mp C500 the quality won't be as good as the C800 but it's more than sufficient for the average DIY home install.

I have the 1080 can I upgrade with these cameras and use my existing DVR? I would like to just upgrade my outdoor cameras?

Not trying to shitpost, but for $10 more (regular price) or $5 more (when on frequent sale) the Amcrest IP5M-T1179EW-28MM [amazon.com] uses the Sony Starvis sensor which provides STELLAR night vision. And it has a microphone with enough clarity and fidelity to hear a mouse fart from 300 yards.

Here's a time laps video (only 40 seconds long) of the moon over my property. If you didn't look at the timestamp, you'd swear it was the middle of the afternoon.

Hi arussfl

These are IP PoE cameras, and unless the DVR supports IP PoE cameras also - the DVRs typically will not support this.

【PoE - Easy Setup even for Beginners】Unlike analog cameras, this PoE (Power over Ethernet) security camera only needs one ethernet cable to transmit video signal and get power supply simultaneously. Thus, you don't have to worry about plugging in and image quality problem caused by long coaxial cables. Safe, stable and reliable transmission is always guaranteed. Not Work with Analog Signals via BNC Cable

Hi Ionizer,

if you have a lorex nvr from Dahua - I would instead go with the 5MP Amcrest turrent ( also a Dahua OEM )

( this camera Annke C500 imho looks like a Hikvision OEM camera - similar to the LaView models )

Hey Matt. So I actually have this armcrest i got for free:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

I am trying it now with my lorex LNK7108 and i am not able to get it to show video. It can find it in the search, but when i add it, i get no video and its not indicating a bad password or anything.

So I think maybe this costco lorex set is just garbage and is not good for onvif

Any suggestion on a good NVR that is 8ch and will work with almost anything i throw at it - ideally my existing lorex cameras - but also for future armcrest cameras or anything else I might want to buy?

Hi Ionizer,

the LNK7108, on a quick search brought me to this page:
https://www.lorextechnology.com/s...t=lnk7108*

I believe that NVR is another OEM other than Dahua.

The Amcrest 5MP bullet camera appears to be a version of the 5MP Turret model, one which is a Dahua OEM.

ONVIF settings.. good question if that NVR support ONVIF, perhaps there's a way to update the firmware for ONVIF support???
( would be really nice if we could find the OEM for that NVR and any documentation with regards to ONVIF support ... )

yeah, tried, the firmware claims it is the latest version (which probably hasn't been upgraded for years)

trying now to see if maybe the armcrest needs to be setup to force dhcp or something, but it doesn't seem like it does and the app just lets you set a password and basic settings.

camera works fine via normal POE, but when plugged into the Lorex NVR, it can't find the host and then resets the ip address it found it at back to 0.0.0.0

That looks pretty good. Do you think the Dahua 5442s everyone raves about are worth the extra $$$ over the 1179s? I know the sensor is bigger, but I can't see how the night vision could get much better...

WOW...look at sample video, you will see it has HORRIBLE dynamic range. It could be GREAT and a nice price for areas always well lit, but outdoor for sun/shade, its bad. Spend 20 more and get a better camera.

low light is a direct relation to sensor pixel size(of course there are other variables in sensor making and Sony has some great ones with EXOMR night vision, and so forth).. IF the pixels are larger it will perform better at low light...considering the SNR and all is decent.

I'm somewhat going to disagree. I had a bunch of amcrest cameras and while they work great at first almost like clock work they failed about 14 months in. Right outside of the warranty date.

i've got a Dahua 5231 that the motion sensor seems to be screwed on...if replacing with a 4k POE, what's best bang for buck right now?
