WD owns Sandisk, and slaps the label on its SN550 drive [westerndigital.com].

Decent drive though.

WD Blue SN550 M.2 NVMe SSD Review: Best DRAMless SSD Yet (Updated)
[tomshardware.com]

FOR
Competitive performance
Affordable and efficient
5-year warranty
Single-sided PCB at all capacities

AGAINST
Small SLC cache
Slower direct-to-TLC write speeds than its predecessor
Unflattering aesthetic
Power optimization on desktops could be better

Apparently they're the gatekeeper who decides what aesthetics everyone should like. Good thing we all have identical tastes. Now I don't have to look at it and decide for myself. I can just be told I don't like the way it looks.

It's a good thing I didn't buy it yet. Because I'm very concerned about storing my files on a drive I don't think looks pretty.

"Was $229.00"...says no one ever. It's literally worth about $99 given the cost of mediocre 1TB NVMe drives.
