Excellent deal, monitor is one of the best in the 1080p 144hz IPS category. Can be overclocked to 165 with DisplayPort, full ergonomic support. EXCELLENT response times and input lag, check out the RTINGS review, they rate this monitor very highly.

there is another line of 24.5 monitors that uses auo panel, such as benq ex2510
I went for ex2510 as the reviews for auo panel seem better than the panda ones (many said panda panel is not eye friendly)

I'm not sure why you'd be concerned with this though? Most monitors today have LED backlights..

I tried to connect my laptop and I still get 60hz only

Might have to go into nvidia control panel and select pc 1920 x 1080. The native setting 1080p doesn't show the higher refresh rate.
