Woodworkers Supply is clearing out some in-stock router bits at up to 75% off.

Old review to answer the question "are they any good" , though at these prices they're cheaper than the China stuff on Amazon so to me it's a bonus if they're considered pretty good.

Couple of examples:
I needed a 1/4" Fluting bit for a project, almost bought an Amana for $50, the Woodtek is normally $30 and now on sale for $10

Edge Banding bits, great if you're putting fancy hardwood on plywood shelving, normally $118 now $49

Keep in mind there are two version of Woodtek bits, and the ones that received the good rating here are the more expensive version. The individually sold bits are higher quality, but the bit sets beginning with #122 are their economy line.
I wonder how many woodworkers who had "router" as a deal alert are excited that they finally got an alert relevant to them.

Don't know what's going on, I tried adding them as URLS and plain text and the forum messes with the formatting... and adds the re-direct.

If you go on the main page the info is there and also the links to the three categories.

Nice, only problem is I don't have a router. It's the last tool I need to really complete my workshop and I've been holding out for a good deal. Anyone heard of any decent deals on routers lately? Any recommended brands? Thanks.

Sadly you missed the hitachi/metabo deal, it was as low as $60 and $40 for them. Such a good deal I got 2.

For a newbie... 1/2" vs. 1/4" shank? Or is it a good idea to have a set of both?

Ordered the "Woodtek Carbide 122405 Router Bit Sets 24 Piece" kit for my Ryobi P601 18v router. It uses 1/4" shank bits, so hopefully these will work well.

I actually have one of each, but I understand adapters can be used?

Under $150 is a good deal with evspk package. A decent deal is $170. Smilie

Yes. The rail and style bits for rail and stile panel doors are big and put a lot of stress on the shank.
