Bought and returned it. Nice laptop with Thunderbolt, nice screen, etc.

Two major drawbacks:
1) 4c 8t CPU? nope....
2) The 3070 has lower wattage compared to a friend's Zephyrus 15 3070 which has 100w

Correct - the only differentiator now is TDP, which manufacturers often aren't disclosing. Still, lots of folks still call the low-power variants "Max-Q" and the high-power variants "Max-P" for simplicity's sake.

i7-11370H is the modern 11th gen 10nm Tiger Lake high power laptop CPU. Only 4/8 but pretty good for gaming.

because nvidia decided to start hiding the TDP from consumers, vs at least giving them an indicator what TDP range it was. they still exist exactly as before the difference is now you don't get to know what you get unless you do in-depth research on it.

Any ideas on battery life for this? I'd probably use more for intensive music production than gaming. (Video card is prob overkill I know).

This is the lower power CPU line I believe for lighter laptops.
