Ambient 50, or reported 50? I found that when mining, the built in cooling was insufficient and I have all of mine sitting on strong fans blowing air up into them. Even then, some sit at 70C when mining. Maybe that was an issue?
The gpus sat between 62C and 68C while mining. The room temp was 50F.

Thats so low. The 3070 Desktop does 58-61

Why do they give a crappy GPU and call it the same exact name, Just call is a 1080 or something.

I've had nothing but terrible experience with ASUS products. Maybe it's just bad luck, but between their motherboards and routers neither has lasted even 2 years

I bought this a couple weeks ago. I'm happy with the build quality, aesthetics and performance

This is the most useless post that has ever had thumbs up.
Why are you satisfied with the build quality? What is the performance like? Which aspects of the aesthetics are good?

Dead lord, imagine this person's car review: "I bought a Corolla and it drives."

I had 4 of them. I wasn't overclocking them and they were pushing 43 to 45 mhs. After 9 days of running in my garage at about 50 degrees one of them shutoff and wouldn't turn back on no matter what I did. I ended up returning all of them because if one of them is going to die within 10 days I doubt they are going to mine without issue for ~10 months until they pay for themselves. YMMV of course.

Did you get the Geek squad warranty? Thinking about getting a few to mine with. Then when they catch fire, I'll just warranty them out lol

And then during the downtime mining payout decreases dramatically ending up with systems that never paid back the investment lol. Mining has already dropped around 30% in the past week for me and I am mining around $500/day with 75k of equipment.

The laptop equivalent has always performed way less than the desktop equivalent since like the beginning of time lol.

I'd be happy to get $1500 best buy store credit + whatever this laptop can mine before it catches fire

Good luck! That's a lot of credit at an incredibly overpriced store. I'm a decent sized miner and seeing how one slickdealer laptop died after a few days of mining at pretty low ambient temps I think it's a bad idea. Not to mention summer is coming. At the rate the network is growing expect possibly reduction of payout around 15-20% every month.

I got 3 and they mine stably closer to 48 - 49, if you push it past 50 it's hard to manage because some drop out. :p

How did you get it to 50? Mine seems to want to hang out around 40.

I have three of these laptops going at a reliable 48.xx MHash. I pushed up the core clock till it was unstable then brought it back a bit. Then I pushed up the mem until unstable, then brought it back. Ended up being around 318 core and 400 mem, but each laptop took a little differently. I have one that only gets 47.xx and gives me a bit more trouble, the other two are identical and get 48.xx.

With 48.xx MHash, I was getting an efficiency of over 512 (measured by whatever units excavator spits out), which is actually the most efficient hashrate of any of my cards, laptops or desktops.

Lots of trouble, but try out 318 core and 400 mem for starters.
