its because a lot of ppl who game like to modify their computers. I have put a 8gb stick of ram in my current one + 1 TB SSD + removed HDD and put in a new one. once you do this, you remove the warranty.
How would they know if you put it back if you had a claim?

In most cases, there's usually a warranty sticker over one of the screws on the underside.
Can't take the bottom off without breaking this warranty sticker.
If you send it in for repairs and the warranty sticker has been removed/tampered with/broken, they know you messed with it and can opt to deny your warranty repair.

You have to break a seal to open the case probably.

Makes sense.

I don't understand why you would make a 15.6" laptop without a number pad. It's not like they're working with limited space like it's a 13".

I'm using a 15.6" Omen with a 1060 that has a number pad right now. Wonder why they decided to get rid of it.
Yup, instantly killed this deal for me. If I'm paying for a 15" screen/chassis, a number pad should be standard. This chassis isn't slim/light, so it's not like they were saving any room or weight by omitting it.

I bought this HP OMEN from Best Buy last Black Friday time period and it didn't have any sticker to open it or around RAM. I upgraded to 32GB.

I love this laptop and replaced my 3700X desktop.

I hooked up 2-32 inch monitor & keyboard (and of course a mouse) for my home use).

I runs very smooth (very powerful) and quiet most the time. I highly recommend this HP OMEN models.

My laptop is still new but I am ordering the 5800U/3070 simply the price is too good to be say no.ApplauseApplauseApplausePeaceWave

I wonder if they fixed the build quality. All the reviews I seen shows a lot of flex in the entire body, especially the screen. Also I hate how they put the power button next to the delete button on the keyboard...

I had a poor experience before as well. Reading yours is tells me nothing has changed and I don't want to risk it.

And it's directly from China. No thanks. I'm trying to be a little more careful to keep our money in America.
I mean you're not going to be buying many or any electronics at all in that case.

picked it up with base config, except the 16GB ram add on. I know the 3070 is probably the better choice at this price, but I game pretty light on my laptops and a 3060 will probably be fine for a bunch of years
Well the thing is it's not just an upgrade to the 3070, you're also moving up to the 5800H - that's two extra cores. Getting both for only $140 more is what makes it a no brainer.

Actually, it will not void the warranty if you are in the United States.
In fact, the use of such stickers could get the Manufacturer in deep legal trouble.

Of course, it may simply be easier to not do business with such companies, since they may make other excuses.

Note: The last time I had an issue with a Dell, the technician actually had me open up my laptop and do things inside it. So this definitely is not an issue with Dell. I can't say if HP has those stickers, but their insides are a little more difficult to access, which is a negative for me.

Easily. You'll need to remove the battery though.

Yeah im replacing a 1700x desktop and a i7-9850h laptop with this due to that 8core in there. Really hoping it ships!

Laptop and selling the video card from my desktop will more than cover this, so really banking on it. Will throw a a cheap gt 710 or something for video out on the desktop and give it to my father.

Well, you will not be getting a laptop then....
