I'm a software engineer and I use this monitor every day. Visual Studio plays nicely with clear type. RDP into a text editor on VM with RGB (default) cleartype can be a little rough. In those situations I tend to increase font size to deal with fuzzy text. It is more pronounced with dark themed Applications.

I think it is worth it for the fantastic high refresh rate, blur free experience. I love playing Rocket League on this monitor. I love the kvm for my mouse, keyboard, speakers/headphones moving between work machine and home gaming computer.

The first one came with a smashed panel. The second was perfect. I ordered from Amazon at $330 and have no regrets.

I use it as a second monitor and a $220 40inch 4K tv as my main. Lots of lines for code!

EDIT: In rocket league, i can see that VRR (gsync) is working with my 1060 6gb. The monitor can put an on screen FPS counter. If I turn up some of the settings I can see it fluctuating away from 170fps in rocket league.
Alright Daddy Warbucks
Also available on Amazon for same price but cheaper since its free shipping (and no EWRA too if in California)

Seems to be lowest price so far. Newegg has additional shipping of $4.99 which you can save on Amazon (not sure if everyone gets free shipping or you need Prime)

What does it mean by "HDR ready"? Is it not HDR certified?

What is SS IPS?
Also how does KVM works on this display? Is there a button to choose between HDMI and DisplayPort?

it sounds like it just takes the hdr stream and doesn't do anything with it

Just an FYI if you're planning on using the HDMI 2.0 ports, 2.0 caps 2560 x 1440 at 144Hz, so there may be no real upgrade over this $10 cheaper monitor:

Even though some monitors don't show that they are G-Sync compatible on their product page I noticed a couple reviews on other monitors where the owners were pleasantly surprised to find that their monitor was in fact G-Sync compatible, ...I wonder if this is like one of those.Scratchhead

The Gigabyte M27Q has a high refresh rate to provide a smooth and responsive gaming experience. However, it's only possible to reach 170Hz over a DisplayPort connection with 8-bit color coding. The maximum refresh rate at 10-bit is 120Hz. It supports Adaptive Sync and is compatible with both FreeSync and G-SYNC to reduce screen tearing. The refresh rate is limited to 144Hz over HDMI, and G-SYNC compatibility only works over a DisplayPort connection.
Oh, and HDR will always be lackluster on IPS panels, or so I've heard.

Yes there is a dedicated button on the back right hand side. You can also install software and assign a keyboard combo for switching.

I see a top rated comment on Newegg where the person claims g-sync works. Though a lot of the lower ratings seem to mention horrible IPS bleed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ might be worth it.

From the review:
"Video Inputs: 1. I noticed that depending on what connection type you choose, the performance can vary: - Display Port connection - G-sync only works on DP, can run up to 170Hz, no HDR on DP - HDMI connection - no G-Sync, can only run up to 144Hz, HDR compatible - I do not have an AMD GPU to test Freesync."

Got this monitor for 320 a few weeks back from Best Buy. Solid monitor for the price imo. G-sync works fine for me with a 1070. No dead pixels, super minor back light bleed in the bottom left. A lot of people were complaining that text looks weird because of the BGR subpixel layout, but I honestly cant see it with my face two inches away from the screen. Its only HDR 400 certified, and i haven't actually used HDR for anything, but from what I've heard HDR is basically useless without local dimming.

Bought and returned one this past week, mine had horrible backlight bleed and several stuck pixels, as well as what looked like debris stuck under the panel? https://imgur.com/a/vExU8rN
